Tincup's 63 Dart w/5.7 Hemi

-
I guess I learned something new. That is like I didnt know that the starters come left and right hand. I didnt know they were handed. What can I say. You learn something new everyday.

It's a good day when you learn something new. I wish my motor didn't have the outlet/inlets on the same side, I had to have the rad custom made ( of course). I got it from the same place as 5.7 did, Northern in Minn. A great bunch of guy's and were very helpful.

oil pan cheaper at arrington,,,, i didnt think any thing was cheaper at arrington,,,,

Actualy the oil pan I found was cheaper at Magnum Force. I beleive with shipping and all including pick up was like $320.00. A Milodon Also.

The oil pans are way too expensive from whom ever you buy from, only because it's a mopar---chevy is a dime a dozen. Making new alt. bracket to get the damn thing closer to the intake. It has way too much distance on the current set up and the geometry of the belt is wrong, it sqeals or chirps when it has run for about 5 minutes, so I'm doing another bracket to fix the problem. Lately the better half has been working 12-14 hr days so the only time i get is late in the evening, so the primer and body work will wait to the weekend.

Here's what I'm talking about, see the HUGE gap, that has gotta go!!!

Sorry Tincup..i have been behind on your project..looks great.. i did notice you are having oilpan issues.. if you havent ordered a new one yet..i have a easy fix for you.. when i put my Indy maxx motor in my 63 dart i could get a pan that would fit.. had to build my own and the 4.75 crank made an issue with the depth of the front of the pan.. i bought some large washers and shimed the K-member off of the frame just enough to clear the oil pan..i dont have the alter-K like you but have the Mforce set up.. same deal bolting up though.. since we have so much adjustment with out front control arms you can shim it quite a bit without any worries... .50 worth of washers will correct your problem..

Thanks for the tip Billyjay, I just received my Charlies pan, that should solve the problem, if not I'll throw in a couple washers. BTW your Dart is a BAD looking machine.

That car is just sick---in a good way.

Hey Tin, how do you like that oil pan? Being aluminum, it will help cool the oil some.

That's a sweet Dart.

I'd love to build one next.

Sadly I would have to part with something else.......So it looks like I'll just enjoy yours.:-D

Is that new pan bolted in?

Is that new pan bolted in?
Well the good news is that I got the pan bolted in, somewhat. All the bolt boles on the passengers side don't line up. I must have got one made on a Fri. afternoon. I know I could just file them out, but for $400 I think it should fit (call me crazy!)

At least I got to finish moding the drivers side motor mount to clear the exhaust. I've got just enough clearance for 1 coat of paint.

Hey I must agree with you. If you paid for a product that is supposed to work on that motor let them have the expense of doing it right and giving you what you paid for.

Send that damn thing back and tell them you would like it to be checked before sending another one. Joey is a good guy so I don't think you'll have any problems.

Ya they should definitely fix that problem. You paid for quality and you got ****. That is not right

And BillyJay your ride is amazing. I was jaw open staring at the pics haha

dart looks great in that color,,,ide send the pan back, he should jump at the chance to make it right, tell him the internet is a powerful thing,,

Before and after pics of the alt. moved closer to the tb.
