I got the same thought and this is what i am doing. Ihave a 66 formula s cudda since high schooland iam 65 now. This is a 4 speed car. I put two coats of black epoxy primer, sanded it went to my local John Deere store and bought a gallon of blitz black paint it looks liike satin hot rod paint and only coast 35.00 a gallon. It dries very hard . They use it on their tractor frames in the 90 s. Put a scoop on the hood with the orginal body color racing strips and it look rugged. Just a thought, good day. tomJust looking for some feedback here about whether I should paint my car. I like it kind of rough, because it's like me, kind of rough around the edges. I drag raced it this year for the first time with the Classic Gearjammers of NC, and had the most fun I've ever had. Also, my 4 year old son enjoys working on the race car with me and I don't have to worry about the paint. But I have guys ask me at the races when I'm going to paint it. Your opinion would be appreciated.
Paint it! It deserves that much respect. If you really like it rough looking Why not just hit it with a hammer & clear coat over any rust.
Am I the only one that noticed the Chebby rims up front ?
Those bother me,more than the paint.
They got to go !!!!
Paint won't slow you down...but it sure as hell doesn't make you go any faster. It's your car man. A few K in paint won't be near as much fun as a few K in motor work
