I was told its a 904 tourqe flight but would like to know for sure what it is and what year it is because I need to get a torque converter for it....which do I need? any suggestions?

also does everything look normal and correct to everyone?

I pulled the pan off and everything looks brand new and has bright red tranny fluid, I was told it was rebuilt in 2002 and I notice yellow markings on the inside of the bell that seem to back that up?

as for part numbers ....On the top of the bell I am seeing what looks to be in large numbers 036-7 and 03o ? I think thats right? lol

on the side of the tranny on the rail above the tranny pan I found these numbers 3681843 4661 5741

any help would be appreciated and THANKS....heres some pictures

Yep, 904. I would have to say '76 or newer based on the weight at the end of the tailshaft. Never saw one of those until the Volare/Aspens hit the showrooms in '76.

any one have the knowledge to decode any of the numbers I provided and tell me what they means? aswell as any other input in regards to my original post

3681843 is trans I.D. number. trans is a 1974

4661 is build date. 5-1-1974

5741 is the sequence # I believe

for future reference go to: http://www.mymopar.com/downloads/transguide.pdf

this is a listing of trans I.D. numbers.

the other numbers you posted I don't think really mean anything.

hope this helps
if anything I would say that the 5741 number would be the build date?
you said the build date is 5-1-1974 and that number is 5 for 5th month 74 for year and 1 for day?

\and 4661 would be the sequence number if thats the case?

im no expert, just asking questions is all

Chrysler used what they called a 10,000 day calender for build dates. In 1974 the number on 1/1/1974 was 5620. So you take your number, 5741 and subtract 5620 and you get 121. That means your trans was built on the 121 day of 1974. 5-1-1974. I have a chart that shows what the number is on the first day of the year. If I remember correctly this started in 1961. Hope this helps you understand.

thanks so much for the help!\

I actually believe it or not....went to the website you told me about....I even clicked on the link that takes you to the tranny info.....but I seen the first part that showed how to identify a 904 from a 727 by the shape or the pan and figured thats all there was to that page and did not bother scrolling down LOL.... thats what I get i suppose lol
Thanks again
