I have a 73 Dodge Dart Sport /6. The transmission fluid dip stick slides easily into the filler neck until about the last inch. Then it gets hung up. I tried it in the position shown and also 180° out. Same issue. Can anyone help with suggestions? Thanks.

There's a rubber stopper/seal under that cap beneath the handle, that's what is hitting on the edge of the tube. Jiggle it around so the dipstick is centered and it will push the rest of the way in.

This stops about 1" before it hits the top of the tube. Far before the rubber seal does.

I would bend it, about 6 inches up from the bottom tip, just a slight bow....
