Tribute to dad

Pics of the fan shroud and hood scoop. They were pretty easy to make. Also pics of the 2.02 J heads for next years build along with the disc brakes. I also got a heck of a deal on the frame section that I may never use but at 25 bucks I couldnt say no.

Well I found the twin to dads car and a 65 also. We will be picking it up Saturday and I will post pics Sunday.

All dad had to say was MAN that really brings back the memories, and it has less rust than mine did.

I found it very shocking to look up at the cowl and see no rust because every other one I have looked at has rust through.

That is awesome!! I am very close with my father as well. I got the car bug from him. He went with me to the Fall Fling this weekend. It is cool when the family is involved. Good luck and keep going! :clock:

Wow, you're into it waist deep! Two Cudas. Now, whaddya' gonna do?

LOL The Mopar bug has a hold on me. Now its 2 early A Cudas, 1 41 Chrysler coupe, 1 27 Ford coupe and my sons 49 IHC pickup. More projects than I probably have days left.

Figure I would bring this to the top. I have the silver 65 in the garage and will get some updated pics as I will be replacing the floor from another one that I parted.

Well I bought a bead roller to make my own floor patches on the pan going in. I figure this way I bout it used for 100 dollars and with the price of patches it will pay for itself on this one car. I made the drivers side patch and welded it in today figuring it is easier to weld it in before it goes in plus the prep is easier this way.

Passenger side to do yet.

And the rear.

I found 1/2 of the build sheet under the carpet also. Crazy how they ordered cars back then. Commando engine with 4 speed and 13 inch rubber with 9 inch brakes. Not even a sure-grip in the 7 1/4 axle ordered.

I have just over half of the passenger front patch in the replacement floor. By next week at this time I should be drilling spot welds to remove the old floor or what is left of it.

Passenger front on the pan I am putting in. In both front patches I invested 120 dollars being I bought a bead roller used from Ebay and can make my own now.

Great story and build.

Thanks Cliff. If you talk to Tommy he could tell you that the Silver 65 I am currently working on came from down by you guys. It will show that we dont need a bundle of money to fix them and we learn skills by doing our own patches.

I will tell him,but making body panels takes patience.I wonder how hard would it be to make a wooden dolly to make the spears on the rear quarter panels?

Stainless would be pretty tough to bend into the spears if yours are missing.

Not the stainless part I think it was a Valiant item only but the spear that is pressed in the body quarter panel. BTW what gauge steel did you use for your floor panels
