I would like to ask 2 questions. Is that red oxide primer you're using? Also why are the holes look so big?

It is Rustoleum rust stop primer. It is an oil based primer that I prefer to use in cases like this where it is not the exterior of the body. I think the holes you ask of are the factory holes that had plastic plugs in them. The plugs were removed for sandblasting.

Any reason for those holes?

I still need to finish the front but the sides and rear are welded. The drivers side welds are ground and primer is sprayed. Will buy new grinder in the morning being mine burnt up tonight. Here is where we are now.

The seven days a week of overtime is now done so I will be getting back to the car. Updated pictures to come.

Looking good Chrysler!! Your trans tunnel looks a little different than mine. Did they use a couple different styles in '66? The shifter hole is different.

I havent had time to do anything as of late. I have moved into a new place during July. Dad has been failing health and has been in a nursing home and back and forth between there and the hospital. Yesterday it appears he had a stroke and was taken back to the hospital. My reason for moving was partially for dad also. When I grew up we lived about a mile from where I bought. We had an acre and farmed Grandmas 80 acres until the county comdened it and took it for very little money. His father taught him to farm on that land and I have moved back to the area in hopes to acquire more land and teach my son to farm also. I have been spending weekends at farm auctions buying the same equipment as we had on grandpas farm. I still am in need of a transport disc, cultipacker, grain drill and combine. I hope to get back to the car soon but for now it sits in the barn next to dads Oliver Super 66 which is the only piece of the original equipment he was able to keep after leaving this area.
