Any luck finding others that fit TTI? I’m wearing earplugs with these dynomax.old thread but i'll chime in.. on my cars the dynomax super turbos drone bad, i got my tti kit through pete at Home - Bergman Auto Craft - Home of Quality Muscle Car Parts
not really. haven't really looked but i need to.Any luck finding others that fit TTI? I’m wearing earplugs with these dynomax.
TruthEveryone is different
Pypes mvt13 seem to have similar dimensions as the dynomax. Case is 14” but I can’t find height width or overall…. The reviews seem good. But the reviews for the dynomax seem good too and they’re making me go deaf.not really. haven't really looked but i need to.

You are saying that they are loud enough to cause hearing damage ?Pypes mvt13 seem to have similar dimensions as the dynomax. Case is 14” but I can’t find height width or overall…. The reviews seem good. But the reviews for the dynomax seem good too and they’re making me go deaf.
That J-pipe is a helmholtz resonator. It's used to cut down drone by reflecting sound waves back into the system. They sometimes require experimentation to get the right length. Once dialed in, they work beautifully.I ran the 3" in & out Hooker Aero Chambers in my "68 A-Body running a 408 Magnum with a full 3" TTI and found them too loud. I swapped them to the Dynomax's I was running in my 493" RB with full 3" TTI in my E-Body and visa versa.
The Aero Chambers were then significantly quieter but still ever so slightly louder than the Dynomax's in the big block car and the Dynomax's were just right in the A-Body small block car.
On a side note: A buddy of mine has a 400" B motor in his car. He added about a 2.5 foot section of same sized exhaust pipe that was "J" shaped a few feet after his collectors on both banks. It somehow cushioned the exhaust pulses enough to eliminate his drone. There is a name for this technique, but I don't remember what it's called.
Exhaust sounds are actually pretty complex and tuneable. Much like musical instruments with regard to sound. I found that using an ovalized exhaust tip "sweetens" the sound of the exhaust to the human ear. I even use them on my cut-outs with the same effect as the flared ends of musical instruments.
Yes. After driving around for a bit my hearing was muffled for a bit. Like I’d been at a concert. It’s not really the volume, it’s the drone. You are saying that they are loud enough to cause hearing damage ?
I will if I have to. It’s just that I paid good money for the full TTI exhaust and I’m trying not to cut it up. It doesn’t need to be quiet I just need to tone the drone way down.Shep76, if you want performance with QUIET, here is my solution :
Get a muffler with the proper tube size for the application (engine size and power) then get the BIGGEST, FATTEST, LONGEST muffler that will fit under the car.
NO 13" case muffler will be quiet (except maybe a 1 1/2" pipe version)
I have a 28" long fm with a 22"case on one of my cars, and a 26" case magnaflow on another.
Ok. Mine are shorter. I have a 69 with manifolds.the mufflers on our dart now are:
2.5"
offset In
center out
case length18"
case width 9.5"
end to end about 24-24.5"
mine is a 70 with manifolds. same exhaust.Ok. Mine are shorter. I have a 69 with manifolds.
Hmmm. I wonder why TTI would have given us different length mufflers. The case on mine are 14”, 19” overall.mine is a 70 with manifolds. same exhaust.
