Tunnel rams are such a pain in the ***!

It's a pretty radical set up for a "street car". Solid roller cam, 10.62:1 compression, trick flow heads, 2" headers, 4500 stall, 4:10 gear. It's basically a drag car I drive around town.

I should talk, I'm running 3 500cfm 2bbls ( I won't know what they actually flow for a few more days, but its more than they did stock), solid roller and ported Indy EZ's on the street.

I had a new fuel tank made that holds just under twice what my stock tank held. That comes in handy with carbs that mimic flushing the toilet when you open them. An automatic overdrive with lock-up converter is a nice feature to have with a high-stall converter too.

That sounds like an awesome combo! I'm keeping my car very primitive! I like not knowing if I'm coming back from each joy ride! Helps keep me young.

Having seen your work elsewhere, I'm simply shocked that you didn't fab the entire intake.

Nice work. I miss my tunnel ram, even if it only sat on the shelf.

Got the top half all smoothed out and sanded down to 120 grit. It's ready for powder coat.

I am all for the tuning. Where did you get air filter? Need to know!

Started on lower section of tunnel ram tonight. This is a crazy manual Labor intensive job but nobody cares about my car as much as me. I deleted all lettering and part #'s. then started blending and sanding.

Lookin good! ****, I probably would've started and stopped halfway when I realized how much work it was. You're doing good. Keep it up!

:thumbsup:great work love that true hotrod spirit something different. to much to big to much work wont fit under stock hood bla bla bla best of luck it will be a monster when your done ,you got my attention !

Thanks buddy! I'm kinda obsessive compulsive some times. If I just threw the ram on and ran it, it would be fine but every time I looked at it I would wish I had done something to it. So here we are. 30+ hrs of sanding into it and still excited about it.

After reading this and seeing how much time you have into it, you have reinforced my love of aged aluminum patina. Nice job, but I don't have the patience, i would have gotten 1/4 through the top, and stopped.

It is a complete pain in the *** but I try to keep my eye on the prize. I biggest problem I am having now is finding the perfect amount of beer to consume whilst sanding! Too little beer and the job is almost unbearable. Too much beer and I forget I'm sanding and I'm dancing in the garage like nobody is watching.

Nice work! And you will love that tunnelram once you get it tuned right:)
