turbo 360 on engine dyno see inside!

I can give you an update - The setup does fit, it does run well and it uses meth injection instead of an intercooler.

Made over 1000 hp at the rear wheels...

Don't be a tease! How about some details? UNderhood pics showing how this thing fit?

I'm working on a single turbo 360 and it's a TIGHT fit under the hood of my Scamp. I really want to see more info!!!

B1 heads?

Yup....sorta....

They're a custom head Scott had made for our use. We then modify them in house and "SD-ify" them further.

I'll post some more stats and vids and pics in a few....

Also, watch for this car in the June issue Mopar Enthusiast as part of an 8 second shootout article...if you don't get that magazine, I suggest you order it now!!
We gave the big block guys a run for their money with our little turbo 340. :)

With less than 15 passes total on the new set up, Mike has run a best of 8.30's, and 166 mph so far. We've got to work on the converter issue....he's plowing right thru it....stay tuned for some fun!

That's a lot of plumbing, you sure it will fit?

fits like a glove!

Umm excuse me for a minute..... I just duck buttered my britches!!!!! Man thats sweet.... Can I have one???

Thanks, stevedemon340!

We build em for anyone....how much power do you want? Our mopar turbo systems can support from 400HP to crazy like Mike's!

Very cool and job well done! Couple of questions:

I noticed that there is no breather attached, is that due to there being no vacuum in manifold under boost? How are crankcase gases evacuated? Would a belt driven vacuum/evac system be beneficial to power production and reducing gasket weep?

Mr. Woody loves that set-up! Down boy, down! =P~ :love7:

A couple years ago I watched a guy with a twin turbo set-up in a '69 Firebird crank 1,100 hp at the rear wheels. That was the day I started thinking about twin turbos in my Demon. But I thought there was no way to package it in the Demon. I'm proven wrong yet again!

Any details on heads, pistons, cam, fuel injection, etc that you can share with us humbled minions?

Down boy! :-D

If I told you, I'd have to kill you... :-D
It's not always about the parts, but more about picking the RIGHT parts, how you prep the parts, what you DON'T do to the parts, and keeping the parts happy as a whole package with the car, and tuning your :bootysha: off!!!
While I'd love to tell everyone what we do, If you really want what you saw, you need us to work our magic...that's how I make my living....if I told everyone else how to do it, I wouldn't be in business anymore!:-D
What I can tell you is the heads are custom B1BA's we had "made" for us that Scott worked his magic on...the intake centerline is moved, Scott's port shape is why they work so well, the intake is opened up to 450 inset....would I recommend this head for you? Maybe, maybe not...depends on your needs and goals.
The fuel injection consists of Scott's hand-made sheetmetal intake manifold, Accel GEN VII that Scott tuned, pistons are our own design, and same for the cam...it's our own turbo grind. The rest of the car is also set up to handle the motor. We converted the k-frame from stock to our custom front-steer unit.....the back was converted from leafs to a 4 link, it's got the right tire size, the suspension is set up right, yada yada yada....

That thing is just PLUM SICK. NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just a question..how sick did the car have to get before the leaf springs weren't adequate anymore? I intend to do something similar on my 69 Valiant some day when the economy gets better, on a less grand scale....I'd like to know where the "breaking point" was......you have a video of the Duster on the dyno back in the leaf sprung days, it was FIERCE!
It even broke the tie down strap...!

BTW, perfect presentation of how a leaf spring suspension is supposed to work.

Thanks,
Alan

Thanks for the compliments, Alan. We appreciate you noticing our hard work and efforts...

Well, there are a lot of "it depends..." to answer your question!
In Mike's case, he was really starting to push the limits of the leafs...the fastest he went was 8.90's @ 154... and that was with him skating all over the track! He was hanging on for the ride!
Granted, some time could've been spent on tweaking it, but it wasn't good for him...especially with his new-found power!
My Duster is going to stay a leaf spring car, but Scott is "SD-ifying" it and it will sorta be a 4-linked leaf spring car if that makes any sense!! LOL! Stay tuned on that!

low 9's, high 8's is do-able, but you better do your homework! Again, might not be for you and your particular situation....

BTW...that strap didn't break....it slid out of the ratchet!! LOL! Whoever put it on, (the new kid at the time!!) did a $h!tty job.....and that was a lesson he learned that will never be forgotten....and that is also why we strap down cars with a minimum of 6 straps over the traditional 4 of most dyno shops....the cars with serious nut get 8 straps, like our Chally and Mike's car now.
