Picked up a 71 plymouth scamp with dodge dart body parts on it. Heres what I'm starting with.

First thing I did was tear apart the front end it was all over the road when I went over any depressions in the road. Found all the ball joints where bad and both the outer tie rods where bad. The front shocks where also shot. So this is what I installed.

Probably cant tell but QA1 tube upper control arm and hotchkis shocks. New outer tie rods too. Once the front end was tight again I moved on to making it run right. So I rebuilt the carter 500cfm carb, but it just never ran proper and I always ended up smelling like raw fuel. So out with the old in with the 21 century.

Got the fitech 600 power adder. Aeromotive inline 360l fuel pump with jegs inline fuel filter. 8an supply line and 6an return line. Looking for some more power then the 318 can produce so force induction on the way. Picked up a hx40 hair dryer to help out.

Started working on plumbing the intercooler/piping

Bought a synapse bov, my buddy gave me his old tial waste gate, bought some dodge dakota header to flip them for the exhaust. I still need to fab everything up on the exhaust side but thats on hold until I get some of my body work done. Heres what going on with that.

I got both fenders, the hood, the trunk, and both doors ready to do a final primer and block it out for paint this week end. I'm doing a sublime green pearl, with satin black hood, grill and all the trim and mirrors. Last but not least on the project is willwood front disc brake converstion, will wood master cylinder and proportion vavle.

Thats the scheme of things right now I'll post some more pics after the weekend once the paint is on.

Oh heres the intercooler behind the grill.

Cant even see it in there.

Some more things I did on rust protection. Used ppg 2 part epoxy after wire brushing any surface rust.

Thx my number one goal is the beat my brother, he has a 90 c4 vette that he has put gobs of money in. He has somewhere around $15,00 in the engine and its just going to break the 300hp mark at the wheels once his new afr heads are on. My second but really close goal is to have just a fun old muscle car. Talk about sibyl rivalry.

oh and my dad is a huge mopar fan, he had alot of car when I was growing up but the one I remember is the 70 roadrunner. Thats the other reason I got this car.

Anyone have a link how to move the alt to the drivers side?

Cool build! I'm very interested in how the fi-tech system works out, I've been thinking about switching over to one myself. Please let us know.

will do once its back on the road. But so far it seems solid cranked up the second time and ran ruff for a few minutes until it started to learn what it needed to correct. Now if fires right up and idles perfect.

Ok so heres the update so far. Got the fenders, doors, and the trunk painted and clear coated.

Still need to wet sand and buff it all. Tomorrow will be the black hood and scoops.

Nice job, I really love those high impact colors and the pearl is cool looking. Keep up the good work! Did you have any trouble fitting the intercooler, it looks pretty big.

Thanks. No didn't have any trouble when had to enlarge the stock holes that where already there. Still need to do some adjustments on the piping but thats on hold for now, atleast until I get my body panels back on. Adjusting doors are a pain.

Got the door panels lined up and the fenders. Just have the grill to install adjust the bumper and install the windows back in the doors.

Made some headway on the turbo side of things. Started the exhaust work to feed the turbo. Once they are all mocked up I will grind down all the welds.

Not the best welder put it does penetrate nothing some grinding wont fix

I am aso planning to get a single turbo kit. Are those just random parts or you bought any kit? I couldnt find anything. Did you make the manifold?

No kit just fabing all the piping. Got some more work done today. I started putting the wilwood brakes on but they dont fit so hopefully wilwood can figure out whats going on.
Here is the exhaust side of the turbo, got it all the under the car going to do some more tomorrow.

I'm having some issues with fitment on the drivers side manifold the giant steering box is in the way. So Im looking at switching to rack and pinion steering there is a kit that aje makes anyone know if its any good.

tomorrow I'm going to work on the wastegate mounting, its going to be raining here so no work outside.

Interesting! How are you going to run the carb? 4 barrel and larger jets etc or what did you plan? How about ignition?

Im running the fitech efi power adder, it has a map sensor that goes up to 25lbs of boost. The fitech will also control the timing so you can pull 1-3 degrees with every lb of boost.

Cool! Didnt even knew these existed. I used to run EFI systems stock on my 85 Escort RS Turbos.

Were you able to fit those Dakota headers without chopping them up?
You should get some clearance by switching to a manual box. But even that might be tight. You can try shimming the motor mounts up a little also.

I think once the rack and pinion is installed the drivers side will fit, but the passenger side there is no hope for them to fit. I picked up some stock cast dakota manifold and the passenger side fits but the driver side was still having clearance issues with the stock steering box, that why im going with rack and pinion. I've read about possible bump steering issues with rack and pinion anyone have any feed back on that.
