Is this an acceptable location to add the bung for my -10 oil drain. I will make sure it will clear the pan bolts so it’s still removable. The reason for putting it so far forward is to clear the exhaust u pipe.

It would be better if it were located above the oil level in the deep sump area. Not in line with a main bearing.
This is the highest point possible on the pan is that not above the oil level? I was hopeing to be able to do it without drilling and taping the block

You don't need to tap the block. The pan is fine as long as it is above the oil level. But it should have some room in the pan, below the fitting not just barely above the bottom of the pan. The location you show is just off the bottom.

hard to tell from that angle but, it looks similar to where I have mine. just below the pan rail on the front section of the pan.

No, needs to be above pan on a slant 6 because the pan is shallow, unlike the small block pans.

I have not looked. Is it practical in the timing cover?

ANYWHERE above the oil level that drains to the sump will work. Period. Put it in the easiest spot FOR YOU to put it.
