These folks are 71 and 76 years old?
Well, I'm almost tempted to say there my kind of guys but they died doing what I wish I could do when I get there, minus the die part.

Maybe it went something like this...
I bet you a dollar I can jump that ravine at the end of the runway with this Hellcat.
I'll take that bet.
Neither planning to collect...

Maybe it was a bucket list thing and that was the last one on the list.

no car is uncontrollable, it still only does what u tell it. Two guys who probly had money and influence, but no experience driving big horse power. I know an old (gentleman ?) that recently gave up dragracing 'MAY HAVE PASSED AWAY"` that is in his 80`s, think the last race he won he was 83? detuned to run low 9`s for the most part, had run a hi 7 or two, lots of 8`s. BIG BLOCK CORVETTE.

WONDER WHY THE "IDIOTS" THAT ARE WHINING ABOUT IT, DON`T WHINE ABOUT SPECIAL BUILT LIGENFELTER CORVETTES AND CAMAROS, AND SPECIAL BUILT ROUCHE MUSTANGS ? Why don't they try to get bicycles banned, people killed on them every year ! Maybe farm tractors too , then they could whine cause they don`t have any "veggies" to eat ! So many dam dumbasses in the U.S. now it`s pathetic !!

If a person wants big horse power they will build it or buy it.... Banning a production car wont save lives. In fact it may cost lives since production cars are much more controlable and safer than our home made missiles.

I read a review of the new Hellcat Charger not too long ago. The author ended his piece with "I defy you to get it to hook up". Looking at the capabilities of the Challenger, that ride probably only lasted a little more than 40 seconds. So much speculation. It's a tragedy in any event, they were probably somebody's grandads, fathers, spouses. In the early days of EFI Audi had an issue of the throttle going hammer down on it's own. Who knows?

I was just crunching numbers, trying to figure out the $1000 Plus a month payment on one of these dang things....:)

With the highway speed limits holding at around 70 MPH for the last 50 years or so, sometimes I wonder about the prudence of so much horsepower in a street licensed/driven vehicle. I know the under-powered Volkswagen Beetle back in the 60's/70's seemed to cruise around at about 60 MPH (always seen 'em in the slow lane) and could have used a little more torque, but now, things are getting a little over the top.

I s'poze they will "outlaw" these cars. Wasn't the 68 Hemi Dart "no street legal"? Urban legend has it a few of them ended up with license plates on the back bumpers

Lets see that 25 seconds give or take a blink. This will make the culling of the gene pool list for this year.

I swear, some people could kill themselves with an ice cream cone, and when they do they shouldn't allow a lawsuit over it to even happen.
About the only thing I have not seen a lawsuit over is a drunk driver getting in a wreck.
That's probably just that I haven't heard of it yet though.

"Yes your honor I was drunk, but there should be laws against cars having headlights spaced to where a drunk person sees three and has to guess which one isn't really there":D
Where have been? Many such suits have been filed against establishments & staff for not cutting off someone they knew or had reasonable premise to believe they were
going to drive & were completely s#*t faced, not that they met with success, just the same.....................
