UTG engine build "callout"

Ok,ok... 41.7 % isn't that bad in today's world :) But, Lets take a look look at you... you think a 318 is a performance engine. :)
Dont be to hard on @318willrun... he has a youtube channel also, and I find his content i have watched pretty damn good, I see no issue getting performance out of a 318, if it's done properly, but not the UTG way which is just toooo half assed in my opinion

I've figured out Dartswinger70. He works hard to jerk chains for the entertainment. Turmoil humors him...

For those that didn't see, watch this and you decide. is it Tony's fault? I dunno but his name is all over this one. Literally on the side of the oil pan LOL!

So what was the point of that? To show a 318 can post stock numbers on a dyno?

That was UTG "Engine build marathon" they slapped it together in one day. And it dint end up well. If you follow up on the engine owners video,he said they had "clearance issues" on the bottom end which is why they had oil pressure issues on the dyno. I'm not saying its Unlce Tony's fault as his weren't the only hands on it but his name is on it on a big sticker on the oil pan...I would think he was "the boss" on the build or more accurately "slap together" of that engine.

So, something I think is interesting about this whole thing is that no one seems to be holding anyone else responsible for anything that happened. Everyone bashing this makes it seem like it was ONLY ON UT's channel and was his thing altogether. As I recall, and yes I did watch quite a bit of it, LO came up with the idea, pitched it to UT and Nick, they all agreed it would be interesting and thus it had begun.

LO, spent half of his time smiling for his own camera/viewers, not paying attention and walking around like a kid in a candy store. Most of the work was done by other people, including UT who spent time doing a basic port job (no opinion on it) and the actual "build" was done by other people. UT would pop over and "help" buy giving instructions and then go back to whatever he was doing. You all act as though he put the thing together top to bottom and hold no one else (LO) responsible for anything. Personally I got the feeling UT was done with it far before it was finished.

Can you say UT was the "boss"? I don't think you can really. He may have been the "expert" (that will make people cringe I'm sure) but it as far as I know (could be wrong) this was LO's thing to drum up viewers for HIS channel primarily. he worked a deal to do this thing and it flopped.

I'm not saying it's LO's "fault" but I think he got out of it, what he put into it. Nothing....

It appears Uncle Tony put his name on that build (Big sticker on oil pan) and it went to ****. He would have taken the credit had it not. The owner of the engine hasn't thrown him under the bus why should anyone else? But going by appearances this build makes Tony look like a hack. I may be the first to say it but others are thinking it I'm sure.

"Not really" what... I don't doubt that UT would have taken credit but so too would everyone else involved...

I'm defending anyone in particular, but everyone seems to be ignoring every other person involved. The only person who I consider a "bystander" is Nick who's only part was to dyno the thing. Could have been anyone.

LO could have picked some chuckle head down the road, but he chose big names and he didn't do his own due diligence.

My point is there's more to this than simple hate and discontent for UT.

I don't hate him Just don't think he's the pope of the automotive/Mopar world. Anyone whos wrenched for a living knows what I'm talking about. There's real world and there's bullshit. Real world is you are out in your garage doing it, bullshit is watching UTG on your couch when you should be out in the garage doing it. :)

I agree, but you can't deny there is a LOT of hate for the guy. And quite honestly from people who HAVE spent the time in garage and still do. Don't like something, turn away and get back to work....

My only reason for the post was to point the irrational portion of this in that it's all focused on UT...

Anyway, I'm one of those guys who spent too much time over the years thinking about working on cars during my day job and no "doing" it afterwards. I'm slowly changing that and have a lot of catching up to those of you in the know.

Wrench on....

You need to get to the beach you are from the midwest right? Wisconsin maybe? LOL! My final word You blasted me as being incorrect by saying UT Road runner has a 400 he also has a 72 b body with a 340 I am going to say its a Roadrunner but it may be a Sattellite, It sits behind his 68 it is white. Dont go for the throat when you are wrong or should I say have your ducks in a row before you do .

Uncle Tony vs anyone from forabodiesonly! $2000 budget u can buy or do anything u want to your motor. Only thing is has to be a 1970s 318. Other than that do u anything u like. But $2000 is all u can spend. Motors must be tested on same dyno. So all u haters step up and challenge him. I say Uncle Tony wins this easily. The winner can get a donation to there favorite charity or free Fram Oil Filters for life.... Us members can take a collection up for the donation to the charity.

There's more water in the upper midwest than you'd know what to do with :) There's so much water in MN, "expanding soil" isn't even a thing. It's already expanded!

Full disclosure, I'm originally from MN. Our license plate says "Land of 10,000 lakes".

It's actually like 14k :)

I flew over the Great lakes in the late spring of 2019. As I looked down at the ice I thought "my flying days are soon over, if this pilot needs to ditch he's putting it in the lake, and that water looks cold..." I was out in Minnesotie once around 1990 the middle easterners were taking over the area back then :)

Yeah, it started long before then. I left in the 90s, went back for school, left again, won't go back.

Yeah it has a q, mannequin, or something like that. Good idea. Maybe a **** centerfold.. lmao
Thanks! I still haven’t looked up the proper spelling but I know there is. “Q” in there somewhere!
Now that **** centerfold idea works a good bit... as well as many of the chicks in the babe thread....

Is that the one he did for that kid that has his own channel? I think I remember that one. It was a mess.

Yes sir, "Lunars outlaw garage" that's who the engine belonged to, it was setup as a 3 way collaboration between UTG, lunar outlaw garage, and Nick's garage.

Yeah that thing had some problems even a Mopar novice could have avoided. It had enough wrong to make you think it was all a setup to get views. Look at this thread. Seven pages already. LOL
