I seem to remember a picture of the yellow Dart with daylight under the front tires.

I looked up melling cams, do you have a part number by chance? I'm only asking this for a future reference. Thanks RRRThen make it simple. Buy a STOCK melling cam. It will pull like a ***** in church down low.

Yes sir I do, but I wasn't sure of which cam you were talking about. I didn't mean to aggravate you. Thanks RRR for the number.Melling SPD 25, for God's sake, doesn't anyone have the internet around here?
I went to Hughes website and I can't find what the advertised duration is for this cam. I know that the duration at 0.050 " is what to go by but I'd like to know the advertised duration as well. One thing nice about 360 threads is that no one jumps in and says "why don't you just put a 360 in it."
Id add windage tray, zero deck pistons with valve releifs and a cam...I don't know why people would choose a 318 over that...

The perfect engine that most of us want. There are way too many that are overbuilt. Like in the 60's and 70's, burning tires for a city block isn't necessary to have fun in the car hobby.
Perfect.agree.. seems so many want to build 600hp motors any more.. not my thing for this car. this car is a cruiser and it needs to have good manners, be peppy, get decent mpg, not run hot or ping and be simple. needs to get up on the highway and cruise 75-80 mph. i think jamie will drive it much more this way. i thought about doing a 408 and decided if i was dropping that kinda money that i'd just go gen 3 hemi. in the end i didn't want to be bothered with all that. i have the 360 (multiple actually), knew how it ran, know it will be a fun car and look the way i and more improtantly jamie wants it to look under the hood with a mild 360.
to be honest when i had my yellow dart it ran 12.teens and was a blast around town, but i like going distances and with that motor and 3.91 gears it would go distances but it just wasn't "fun" for me.. when i hurt that motor and stuck this stock 360 in it with a 2.94 gear i enjoyed the car so much more.. it was surprisingly peppy and cruised anywhere i wanted easily. it got as good as 17mpg with a big 780 on it even ran well on 87 octane... i just wanted to freshen this motor up before dropping it in this dart. good thing i did. found 2 cam bearings in not too good a shape. so i'm sure this motor dressed basically the same as it was in the yellow car with a little cam, low gearset trans and 3.23 gears should be a bit more peppy and still cruise and be fun like i really want.
But most don't want to build the drivetrains to go with it.agree.. seems so many want to build 600hp motors

They do not give advertised numbers anywhere on there site.I went to Hughes website and I can't find what the advertised duration is for this cam. I know that the duration at 0.050 " is what to go by but I'd like to know the advertised duration as well. Does anybody know what it is?
Freakin funny ****. He still finds a place to cry about and bash a 318. The only place it’s mentioned (318) is on an engine I did at 18 years old. 39 years ago! LOL!Id add windage tray, zero deck pistons with valve releifs and a cam...I don't know why people would choose a 318 over that...
K. Thanks. I was just wondering. I know that comp cams and lunati show the advertised duration, it's no big deal I was just curiousExactly!

Never did. No one knows the advertised numbers unless they figured it out themselves on there engine or had it “Cam Doctored.”

Yea man, no worries. I myself like a lot of people would love to know. I guess it’s a super secret squirrel kind of thing.K. Thanks. I was just wondering. I know that comp cams and lunati show the advertised duration, it's no big deal I was just curious
Yeah like me I don't really have the drive train or chassis to really utilize my strokers torque. Not that I really care its just an impractical thrill ride gas sucking toy to me.But most don't want to build the drivetrains to go with it.
Wasn't super long ago 300-400 hp were super car numbers, now everything is 700hp + and family sedans are 300-400 hp but weigh a lot more than A body.
