Vintage Direct Connection parts. Let’s see em!

I guess it's close enough to Christmas to post this as I'll be opening it in the morning. I had one of these on my Dart for years and when the car was stolen, someone stole it off my wrecked car in the tow lot. Yes it's NOS, and yes I paid up for it, but you only live once and you can't take it with you. Merry Christmas everyone!

I bought a couple-three of those off the display pegboard in the parts department of a now long closed small town Dodge dealer. 1991 maybe? I still have one in NOS condition. I knew DC was gone because it had changed over to MP. I think the paper packaging with the part number is still around somewhere. The ones I bought came in a bulk pack from which the dealer would sell singles. They were cheap, maybe $2-3 each.

Bought these NOS for the wife for Christmas. Size 4 so I got them cheap! I really just wanted the box but pretty cool to see footwear.

Original Dealer spark plug wire spool.

... I just don't have room for all this stuff.

I purchased this Direct Connection jacket in 1978 using the mail-in order form in the 1978 Direct Connection catalog. The jackets were made by and ordered from Horizon Sportswear. It had the Direct -><- Connection patch, but I added the others. It's fairly well worn.

I got this Direct Connection descendant Mopar Performance jacket several years ago, and it's a nicer made jacket, but not as desirable to wear as the Direct Connection jacket.

And this is not Direct Connection, but it hangs next to the other jackets. It's a Mopar Muscle Club International (MMCI) jacket from the 80s. Shown here with the July 1988 Muscle Hustle club magazine which has my Twister on the cover.

Here are some Direct Connection Tune Up Tips that I've had since the 70s. These were also under the predecessor "Special Parts" program. These are the type-written photocopied documents that predated the bound books. Actually the initial bound books were collections of these.

These are early indeed but check these out, below. Dad got these in 1968 right before he got his 69 340 Swinger. The 340 tip book is very light on info as the engine had just been out a few months at the time. for more info, they give you R. Maxwel's internal address.

Direct Connection Tags. Also a Mopar Performance and a couple of Chrysler internal tags (internal but available externally).

I still have several of the lower tags and the top one that says "Part of Engineering". These were sold aorund 1983 minus a year or so potentially. From what my pal said that sold me so many, they used them for sort of an internal fund raising project. I think I bought and sold over 100 back then. Got one signed by Big Lee himself and Mr. Shelby even, unless I sold that one.
