Called Gramma today, she is in a Nursing home on lockdown. BUT they are not isolated to their rooms.
Staff only in and out. No visitors. Gramma was in good spirits, free to move around. 97 years old, the oldest person there! I asked her to let me know when they remove "lockdown" so I can come live with her lol.
She knows of the deaths at Pinecrest nursing Home, she brought it up, I wasnt going to.
Everythings good with Gramma, makes me feel better!

So she was enjoying her ride at 89 or so years old. Good for her! I hope I'm still getting into vintage Mopars at that age. Best wisher for her & everyone else!
We have a nursing home south of here that has a few patients diagnosed with the virus. Not good for those old folks. I worry about my mom. She's 93 but in good health. If the virus gets to her nursing home it could clear out the whole place.

But,
Your scale of counting deaths begins in January. It ends so far in late March.
What I was correcting is that the counting began more than one month. January, February, March- plus in that 2.xx month time frame, the count TO 30,000 started more than one month ago, it started 2.xx months ago.
We arguing over semantics though and share the same belief.
Sir we are not arguing anything. Not semantics nor anything else. We agree the virus is killing people. But I am using a one month cycle to see an increasing rate. Since January there has now been 39,000 deaths. I am pointing out that in the last 30 days / 1 month there has been 36,000 of those deaths. There were 3000 from the beginning of the count to March 1. The previous 30 day cycle was less, about 34,000 and the one before less, about 32,000. The daily count is going up therefore the 30 day average is increasing. My point is merely how much the amount increases as it goes and how it did not do much from January until March. On about March 10 the number started to jump in larger amounts. Then they exponentially started to jump. I am simply Showing that the virus is now in full swing vs the first few months. I expect tomorrow the last 30 days will total 40,000+/-.

...and to think as late as last week, there was a LOT of talk of "returning to normal".

It will be interesting to see what exactly the " new normal" will be?? How long will it take for people to start venturing out to restaurants/ sports events/ disney world ect in large groups once the effects of the virus declines?? I know my family will be taking everything our Gov't says with a grain of salt ! ( My wife and I are considered essential and are working mon- fri) . Stay safe .

Have to go on mandatory 2 week furlough. Business is booming and we are way understaffed. Not sure I see the sense in this big corporate move. In the Atlanta area things are getting worse by the day but not as bad as other areas of the country. The work is here and Heavy. With schools and colleges out everyone is pushing up the construction schedules. This is going to get tough and hope there will not be more mandatory furloughs. Only salaried employees so far, time will tell.

The SD rules are making construction in Cincinnati difficult. Other than that most work has continued.
today has been a pretty big jump already. Hopefully soon the increasing trend will level off and start to diminish.

We have a senior rehab center in Richmond making waves. It makes up a large portion of deaths in our area.
Oddly enough we have an employee who was working there part-time up until February. She couldn't take how the staff treated people but that's a different story....

My wife and I work for the same company and are both salaried. We are DINKS " Double Income No KidS"! She will go on 2 days a week furlough for 5 weeks while I choose to go 2 weeks in alternate pay periods for the expected time. As we get two checks a month each. Fortunately we have reserves and will be fine. The Company mandates absolutely no work during that time! It will be hard to shut off the phone and computer during , which is why I wanted full weeks. Easier to set VM and out of office replies that way!
Damn, that's a hard hit.
