Wd-40

Buddy-o-mine uses it to coat parts he doesn't want any overspray on prior to painting a vehicle. ie; engine, suspension parts, rear end. Washes right off afterwards :eek:
 
Use as starting fluid on the old B&S on the lawn mower.

This product also composes ½ of my "Redneck Toolkit". The other ½ is duct tape.

Here's how the R/T works. If it don't move and should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use duct tape. Yee Ha!
 
I love WD40 for a lot of uses. I used it on my new engine after washing it down with soap and water, not a spot of rust on the bare metal.
 
Soak the snow blower after i am done.
Not a bit of rust on it after 9 years.
 
I just spray it in the house every now and then so my wife asks "what's that smell???"
 
My father inlaw was a tool and dye guy, he passed away years ago but in his old age he could never remember the name of the stuff, so every time he asked for the TO 27 or the XR 83 or the ZY 17 you always knew he wanted the WD 40 lol

I've used it instead of ether for 'quick-start'

Also, because it is corrosive, it works well as an electrical contact cleaner, but then must be replaced with something non corrosive, or you will quickly lose contact again.
 
I keep a can in my truck it is good at washing hands wen they are really greasy.you know that black hard to get off greas.............Artie

I did that with a 383 bare block I was storing. Rusted up after a while. It's not a very good rust peventitive.
 
Don't forget, it fixes absolutely EVERYTHING wrong with your bike when you're between the ages of 9-11!!!

I learned from old geek saying that "WD-40" is "water dissolve" formular that used to dissolve water. After 39 tries of trail and error, number "40" succeed, its became formular. It could have been call "WD-41" for just one more try. My 2 cent

Used it to remove duct tape residue,off of a leaky window Chevy the other day at work.(lol).
 
Putting it on fish lures sounds interesting. I'll have to give that a try. It might have the opposite happen.

My machinist said absolutely no wd-40 on the bare block for that very reason. He said coat it will oil or trans fluid.
 
I wouldn't use it for storing a motor. My machinist recommends WD-40 to get the water off and out of the motor after you give it a soap and water bath fresh from the machine shop.
 
yep, works on guitar strings, cleans them and keeps the tone in the string. also great for cleaning/polishing the whole guitar. cut my string use in half when i started using it.
