Weight loss and perseverance

Some new clothes ordered today. New pants in my current size, a couple of shirts and a new belt.

The current belt is well past its utility and too damned big to wear for work anymore.

I feel like a teenager again, except this time I am shrinking out of my clothes!

Today’s victory!

When I started my weight loss, my shirt size was between 3-4XL.

Today, this shirt arrived. Straight XL...no numbers before it!

Well done my friend. Quite an achievement. Try walking around with the weight you have lost in the form of weights or whatever. May astound you the effort required.

Trust me, I know. It was like walking around with this strapped to me 24/7...

It’s the middle of the month and I have lost another 1.5 lbs. As I anticipated, every loss now shows up more dramatically in how I look. Since it is all concentrated in the middle now rather than spread across my whole body.

Here I am today in one of my new XL shirts. You can see how much better it fits in just a couple of weeks and how baggy my new smaller pants are becoming.

So today something happened I never even considered. It is very hot and humid but I noticed that some of my skin is peeling like I got a mild sunburn...but I haven’t.

It is mostly on my forearms, lower legs and some on my neck. It kinda freaked me out a little at first and then I did some research. And then called my doc to confirm.

Turns out that because of my weight loss, my skin is shrinking and the areas that have shrunk the most are peeling. It makes sense since the top layer of skin is just dead cells and when the living skin under it shrinks, the top layer peels and sheds.

A good sign that my skin is now noticeably shrinking to my new shape...but something I never even thought might happen.

I guess it’s time to buy a loofa for the shower! LOL!

Oh, and another unexpected surprise that I didn’t expect...and perhaps motivation to others to pursue their own weight loss.

Mr. Willie now snaps to full attention and holds his post like a dedicated Palace Guard like he did when I was 30...and doesn’t quit until well after his shift is over.

It has been a long time since waking up with morning wood acting like granite, but now it is a regular occurrence.

If you catch my drift...

Well. It’s the last official weigh-in weekend of July and as of today I have lost over 3 lbs this month. My new weight is now 259 with a total of 56 lbs lost.

Still going!

I will buy another belt when I get to the point of needing another notch. This is the second belt I have shrunk out of since I started and I’m keeping them like trophies. I have lost 8” off my waist so far and every new belt is a whole new set of goals!
You should frame them and hang on a wall!

Keep up the good work.I lose 20 and gain it back. Today I'm going to try and start losing the 20 I gained back and then about 55 more.My day started with a cheese omelet and sliced tomatoes! The dumb waitress brought me jelly and peanut butter.I had no toast.

I was going through the photos of my weight loss and thought I’d put them here in a progression for folks to see.

As you can see, each weight loss of about the same amount becomes more visible as I get smaller.

Another surprise today. Remember how I said the weight loss was accelerating across my middle now that the other parts of my body have reached about as small as they will go?

Well, I got new pants today since I have quickly shrunk out of the ones I bought back in the middle of June. They are the same brand and style but with a 2” smaller waist!

Holy crap! I lost 2” off my waist in 7 weeks?!

I’m going to have to totally re-think how I buy clothes now! I only bought 2 pair of pants in this new size and another 2 pair that are 2” smaller than that. At this rate I will shrink out of both sizes and need to get new ones even smaller by Thanksgiving.

When I started at 315 lbs, I had a 56” waist. It took me 16 months to get to a 50” waist. Then it took only 4 months to get to a 48” waist. Now, it took just under 2 months to get to a 46” waist.

My monthly weight loss has remained steady the whole time at right about 3 lbs per month.

Well, it’s been 2 weeks since my last weight check-in and I have lost another lb. My new weight is 258 making it now 57 lbs lost.

I also pulled out some pics to show the change in my neck. When I started I had a 20” neck size. Now it is 16”. Based on the difference in volume between this two, that’s over a gallon of fat off my neck alone (7 lbs).

I don’t think my neck is going to get any smaller now!
