Lol,..... i still have a Silver Beauty from the early mid-80's that We ran the balls of of at the independent shop i worked at. The switch body got broken & nobody seemed to be able to cough one up, so We got a new one, the owner let the stray go home with Me. New owner in '04 added a body shop, & a TIG about 5yrs. in.
 
For a hobbyist my 89 dollar Harbor Freight welder has served me beyond phenomenal!... The things I built in constructed with it are more than I ever thought I would.. countless exhaust systems.. snowmobile sled Deck... Enrolling jig for my power wagon cab which I ended up turning into a jig for a Ford truck cab for a customer... So many brackets I can't even remember the custom brackets for the AC pump in my duster and in my power wagon...
I'm very much advocating this Harbor Freight welder for the hobbyist...
Going to use it today to weld my Harbor Freight caster wheels to the bottom of my sled deck to use as a rolling 8x8 table for the bed of my power wagon build...
Edit 8 years and still running strong...
