What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

-
after a few shakedown runs I went to double check all the bolts on the exhaust are still tight

while I was under there i noticed a small transmission fluid leak
hoping for an easy fix i checked all the transmission pan bolts and found all of them were loose, except for the one that was missing

so I grabbed a new one and snugged the rest of em down

now, is hand tight good enough, or should I slap some loctite on there?

A little Funk on the Master Cylinder, It was epoxied sprayed 5 years ago and sat in the box inside the house until last year when swapped. Also some Funk on the upper Radiator hose. Not sure what it is but some dressing should resolve it. Not to bad I guess seeing it has been on the road since late 2014. Storing un conditioned with a bucket of Charcoal helps in the trailer!

I'm with you!

I did burgers on the grill for dinner. I use Kingsford Original. Susie mixed up a flavorful batch of ground Chuck. Yummy.

She forgot to put on the baked beans though!!

Lucky for you to get it!

I had some nice juicy Fatty GB burgers last week, my favorite! Not a chuck guy but I will take any I can get right know! and Kingsford only, No Gas for my burgers!

gas grills are outdoor ovens

though I do have a gas griddle out on the patio...I can make anything from breakfast to rice on it

I have both and use them differently. Burgers need Charcoal, JMO.

Tomorrow I'll have something to post.

PTC made the converter for a 68 up large input shaft transmission. I've been waiting to do a deal and pick up a 1970 transmission that I planned to rebuild, but this dang stay at home order put the deal on hold.

So....since I'm off work for the next two weeks, I'm going to put it together with the original converter. I still haven't driven it yet with the 5.9!! The build should be a fun engine. Stock pistons with all new rings and bearings, reground cam, new timing set, Edelbrock heads, air gap intake, 750 carb, and Doug's headers. Along with the 3:55's it should be fun!

After pics.
Cleaned up all kinds of casting flash, got the ends too.
Next weekend, taking the heads down to the quarter car wash, order up the smaller port gaskets, lap the valves in and confirm gasket matching.
Gotta install the lokar kickdown cable then I should be ready for the heads and the air gap intake.

I got the transmission in today!! I'm running the original torque converter for now. But, at least I'm back on the road. Tomorrow I'll adjust the shifter and the tailpipe on the right side needs adjusted.

I took a quick ride around the block and all seems well. Didn't get a chance to open it up but I can tell there is 5.9 in there!

We're under a stay-at-home order at least for the next two weeks (it will probably be longer). So I checked the tire pressures while it sat in the garage! :(

Wow that color pops what color is that, that's going to look B A when you get finished

Sounds real nice. What mufflers you using?

Thanks!

They are Dynomax Super Turbo. I'm running Doug's headers into 2.5" to the mufflers, then 2.25" tailpipes. I had an "H" pipe before I did the swap. I plan to add it back at some point but for now they are separate. The cam is 216 duration @.50 and 517 lift on a 110. Not too radical.

I had Flowmaster Series 40's but they were much too loud for me, lol.

Ordered some new speakers for my truck from crutchfield They are supposed to be here today . Install this weekend. I was crankin the new Lynard Skynard album and realized my speakers weren’t sounding too good.

I cleaned out the inside to work on the dash. I got the pad off started sanding the metal part to prep for paint, found some pretty impressive rust holes to fix. And now I'm stuck in a thunderstorm lol
