What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Love seeing pics of that car.

Thanks! It definitely is not a show quality car like some of the cars on this site. But I drive the **** out of it! I bought the window rollers to fix the back window and... well after 10hrs of trying its still not perfect. The paint isn't perfect (far from it) I still have non matching spark plug wires... and my brakes still suck (keep getting air in them and have no clue why) after replacing almost everything 2x and bleeding them more times than you guys could ever imagine.... :elmer:

Oh- and my windshield wipers don't go all the way back down after turning them on lol. I have to put them all the way down by hand when I park:realcrazy: I think I have a 3 speed wiper motor but they only sell 2 speed motors on rock auto lol.

I'm blessed though because she starts right back up every time without giving me any fits, asking to be driven hard once again.

Planning the new adventure with her... real soon!

that color is one of my favorites, and when or if you do repaint it, you should definitely keep that color. Stands out in a good way. Had a 73 challenger that had a poor repaint and representation of that color. Drove me nuts cuz I love plumb crazy.

Sound alike the perfect car! Perfect ain't the paint, the mismatched wires or the wipers parking too high (been there done that), but the joy you get from your car. Enjoy it, buy another car (A body) for daily work , :poke: and give this one love as you can.

But if you do take it off the road and give it the full works, just promise to beat it like you do now, that's what you and the car love!

My plan is to take it "off" the road after I get a daily driver, most likely a truck. Then this thing will get a new motor, transmission and paint/body work :)

Then I will beat the snot out of it once again. I've found a 360 block but the Stroker short block being made by a member here really has peaked my interest. I just am going to assume it will be sold before I'm able to buy it unfortunately

Brought her home today. Long day to accomplish that and I need to tune the new carb because it’s running rich. But she’s home.

Getting her ready to go to paint very soon now....

Anyone tell me how to remove the wiper arms?

Jeff

Go buy the tool. It's like $5 You will thank me. Any good parts store sells them The tool is the black handle and clip above the wiper arm in the first photo.

Four things:
1. put in new motor mount in the passenger side. (old one just fell out.)
2. Fixed the passenger brake that fell apart on me the first day of school and the car had to be towed home.
3. finally got the old oil pressure sending unit out after battling with it for three days. (put in a pipe plug and put in the new mechanical gauge line)
4. Finally put the car back down on the ground after basically a week and routed the mechanical temp gauge copper wire thing.

productive day:D

PERFECT!
They're off! I had the tool but didn't know how to use it. ...piece of cake!
Thanks again!

Jeff
Pictures alway help. Once you see how. It's easy. Remember the assembly line was always moving they had 15 seconds to get them on and move on. So it had to be a easy way for the line workers

Reinstalled the carpet around my shifter console. Easy peasy day... nothing really for me to do on the car until I blow the whole build up and start over...

Still sanding. You can count the layers. One coat red primer, one coat grey primer, one coat yellow paint, another coat grey primer, another coat of yellow. :BangHead:

Starting to yank the motor back out. A oil leak is unacceptable on this restoration. My car or a clients car? I will stand by my work. Out it comes.

I drove the car to the local cruise again today. I had adjusted the carb again and switched to full manifold vacuum advance. The car idled so much better, and I got a chance to try it from a dead stop. My secondary adjustment got rid of 90% of the bog.

At 76 years of age and only 138 lbs... I have a hard time of late driving my 65 `cuda "4 Speed" with the Old Green 10.5 Borg&Beck ... hurts my Knee so much at times and it just takes away the "fun"... Out of Desperation, I dropped out the 4 Speed and Installed a different 10.5 Clutch & Pressure Plate... While the tyranny was out, I decided to reseal it... It's been in the car for 15 or so years...Anyway, I have not fired it up yet as there are some minor parts to put in place.. but I did push in the clutch pedal to see what it felt like... and I am quite pleased... "IF" this don't work... "904 Automatic Tranny" ??? I sure hope not as I do Enjoy Rowing the Gears...
RIGHT now sitting in Dunkin Donuts in Pain from laying on floor getting that 4 Speed back into the car last night... When I was Young, none of this bothered me.. Fingers Crossed... ( the Red Pressure Plate is the New assembly )

I believe this will be the weekend where I finally get it started up! Getting the replacement fuel pump in today and I need to get a water pump belt then she's ready to fire off. I have a bunch of temporary wiring in there to run some AF/oil pressure/water temperature gages during startup.
