What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

-
I changed out the speedometer gear yesterday, and took an impromptu bath in transmission fluid. Finally I think the speedometer is reading correctly. Today I ordered a tuning kit for the Street Demon carb. The car drives great, now I am just fine tuning.

Not goodbye, just moving away!

Best laid plans sometimes turn out to be crap!! :BangHead: :BangHead::BangHead: I thought I had left enough clearance when I installed my temporary/homemade body dolly stands. And, I used the only hole already all the way through the frame rail. Now I'm to the point of trying to install the shackle brackets...No room to pull the bolt from the dolly stand after the bracket goes on. I thought about pulling the bolt and turning it around so it would slip out the other direction after the bracket is installed, but there's not even enough room for the nut on this side of the frame rail. I don't see any choice but to set the car on jack stands and pull these dolly stands off. I hate working under jack stands, especially when I'm going to have to do some knocking around with heavy parts to install the rear springs and axle/diff. SIGH!

Conical valve springs arrived and I'm another step closer. Next month I'll be ordering the tool steel retainers. In the bottom left corner of the 4th picture, you can even see my magnet-on-a-stick.

This, I am in body and paint phase. Quite a challenge when the temperature is 85 by noon. I'm working in my driveway to get it straight and ready for final block out.

Been there, done that!!

I even had a tray under it but when I tried to wiggle it out, it cocked to one side and shot in my direction.

I was an ironing fool...ironed the wrinkles out of the new trunk mat I got for the 71 Demon. They come all folded up nicely...with creases you have to iron out if you want them out. So ironing I did!! But I'm happy with the results.

The Kitchen table would have been a better spot do do that kinda work. Ask me how I know?

Since you're going to get in trouble anyways, may as well wash those used aluminum intake manifolds in the dishwasher. Get the whole sleeping on the couch experience over and done with in one fell swoop.

Your way too late for that. Wife found out after a long weekend away. You don't wanna know the rest.

Ran the Engine Hoist over to Brain's so he could pull the Slant 6 out of Jim the bodyman's '74 Dart Swinger.

Getting things ready to do the V8 conversion next. 318 Engine, 904 trans and spool mount V8 K-member ready to go.

I got the shackle interference thing sorted out and moved on to install the rear springs, axle housing and differential.

Yes, American Racing Torque Thrust II's.......
Wanted real Cragers but price was literally TRIPLE.
I'm not afraid to spend bucks on this project, but that doesn't mean I should be foolish with my money!
