What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

-
Haven't done anything for over a week. I had shoulder surgery a little over a week ago to remove bone spurs. PT is going fine, but probably still another week out before I get back to light duty on the car. Thus isn't even close to the ordeal I had 10 years ago when I had a complete tear of the rotator cuff tendon in the right shoulder.
Funny coincidence, I had my shoulder and neck x-ray'd just last week. Had surgery on it 20 years ago and it's been bugging me for a few months, especially when I hit the gym. Photos came back good... they think irritated nerve so it's anti-inflam meds and PT for me. Good luck with your recovery!

Drove the Challenger for about 30 minutes yesterday. Roads are still messy and it's scheduled to snow/rain starting Tuesday. Just wanted to get some oil up top and keep everything lubed up and moving.

After a long day of driving, I picked up a ridiculous deal on a 6.4 Hemi BGE shortblock for my next project. I couldnt say no. My Scamp is going turbo in 2023!

Sending the heads off to Texas Speed in a few weeks for inspection, porting, valves and springs. Block is getting inspected locally next week. Then it's time to start saving $$$ for parts.

Really want to push the limits on this build. Shooting for 18-20psi. Which, by my redneck math, will put me around 2.45 - 2.5hp per cube or 1065hp with 426ci displacement and 9.5:1 c/r.

It going to be a helluva year! Merry Christmas!

Prepped and installed the new gas tank. I used roofing tar paper to pad against the body, glued it in place with windshield sealer glue and the trimmed it up. I also put some neoprene straps between the tank and the spare tire tub before I tightened the straps.

My buddy and I worked on my carb today and played around with different timing curves. We also replaced the rear lighting harness so that my back up lights now work and we hooked my wipers. Of course, since it was 60 degrees on the last day of the year, we took it out for a few rips around the country side. Happy New Year everyone!

Very nice....I'm going to steal your tar-paper idea!
Thanks

I've been waffling between buying a new circuit board and repairing the pins that snapped off on those infernal things. What a dumb design. Anyways, today I went the cheapo route and repaired it.

All loaded up for her stay at the Beauty Parlour. 3 months post cluster f but at least I didn't have to wait 2 to 3 years like many are to get their car into a shop.

Pulled the front wheels , brakes , shocks for a little detail clean up. The car has been media blasted and painted in the past (previous owner) in the small crevices where the paint didn't cover there's a little rust. the spindles and other parts were left in the raw going to detail and paint them too. The shocks are shot so new ones are ordered.

Put this seat in my Duster.
I am getting new skins on bench seat, the heater controls, vent and ducting needs to be replaced, a dash pad as well as some wiring while I'm under there. Doing that work with the seat in sucks to put it mildy. The floors need some patching and detailing as well, but I wanted to be able to drive the car while I work on it. It's easy to get in and out.
I have a 72 Demon project I'm working on that I'll be able to incorporate it into later on

E-brake warning light replaced, installed the new shift and park cables onto the shifter mechanism and got it back into the dash. Lots of under-dash work with tiny parts. Had that minute retaining clip spring off three times.

I spent the afternoon yesterday cleaning and taping my trunk finish piece. My buddy will be spraying it sometime this week!

Getting closer... ran into a snag with some thread repair being required to get the park cable installed, but the shift cable is set.

Got my fuel line run after several backup-and-start-overs. First, I attached the line to the sending unit before I realized that the line was on the wrong side of the jack stand.:BangHead: Backup-and-start-over! Unhooked from sending unit and moved the whole line to the outside of the jack stand. Then I realized that the route from the sending unit over to the wheel well bend is supposed to go BEHIND the gas tank strap.:BangHead: Backup-and-start-over! Unhooked from the sending unit again and ran the line behind the tank strap. I got the line with all the bends in the right places and snapped into the frame clips...roll the front...I didn't thread the line through the crossmember:BangHead: Backup-and-start-over! The third try was the charm. Through the crossmember, in the body clips, under the frame rail, behind the tank strap, and attached to the sending unit, ground strap clipped on.

Only 3 tries...you did well!

Now be careful with that fuel line connection in the engine compartment as once full, it will siphon the tank if you disconnect it (ask me how I know :BangHead: )
