Intake installed...

Used gun blue on the bolt heads, then VHT engine clear over the top.

Fabricated a bracket to mount the coil

New valve cover gaskets and went from bolts to studs.

Mocked it up to Check clearances with the Holley on top. So far so good

Peel the sticker off the coil. They are not paying you to advertise there products. Besides it looks cleaner.

Having bad luck.

Valve lash time. Quieter after lash adjustment. 1 was good out of 16.....

So I set the lash cold and subtracted. 006 from the specs as it is an iron block and aluminum heads. .010 I and .012 E. Was fine cold. Ran the car hot yesterday to verify no valve cover leaks and had to pull 1 cover. Hot lash check ....way too tight. I almost feel like I needed to add .006. What's everyone doing? I'm going to set the cold lash to .016 and .018 or should I go more? Spec is .016/.018.

Pulling out all of the seats (front & rear) so I can find and remove another mouse nest. After that, washing, shampooing, and/or wiping down everything.

Reassembly set for tomorrow.

Started to install some new stereo equipment in my Dart. Made a new rear dash, installed rear speakers, and bolted in the sub box and amp.

I relate to that, I just found 4 living in my trunk lid and it's a daily driver...

No pictures, but i put 30 more miles on it driving around town. Such a gorgeous day!!

I'm so frustrated with Aeromotive.

I bought their 2 chamber regulator (13220) and when we did a systems check, a large stream of fuel started shooting out of the top.

After inspection, the diaphragm looked like hammered dogsh!t. Whomever assembled this at the factory didn't align the bolt holes correctly and then proceeded to bolt it down anyway and tear the gasket. Fuel then bypassed the diaphragm causing the leak. Luckily this happened at my shop and not while driving.

It's been 5 days and Aeromotive has not responded back after multiple calls and an email. I'm about to go full Karen.

$100 says that the person at the factory putting these together doesn't even know what it does.

I scored a running 90k mile 5.9 Magnum, complete basket case La 318(390 stroker already planned), working small block 904,a 45,000 original mile RV 440 (6-71 blown 800HP is now planned) and 727, SBM Edelbrock performer intake and Eddy 750 carb, Bug catcher scoop, all for FREE from a Chevy guy this weekend! His wife made him clean out his garage! He said if it's in here and it fits Mopar you can have it! So I loaded the truck up twice!!
The MOPAR GOD smiled on me this week!

More playing around to figure out linkage and throttle cable.

Did not care for how the 340 bracket was positioned relative to the kickdown linkage. Ended up changing it back to the 318 bracket. The LD4B increases the angle but the alignment back to front is still better with the 318 bracket

Working with a 1965 904 transmission and a 1971 318

I just go by what Hughes said for my cam, .018 & .021.
You have me thinking though after the next dyno pulls I should see where they are at hot and ask Hughes if they figured aluminum heads into their lash specs.

I readjusted to cold lash plus .006. All is good now. Valves grow when hot.

Going to buy 5 gallons of ethanol free fuel, add it to the gas in the tank with sea foam and give her a drink after I finally add antifreeze for the first time, drive her to the pavement again then she will be ready for winter. Couple small leaks to fix up, trans pan and oil filter adapter, she feels strong, just a couple hard hits from a stop to 37 hundred rpm.
