Put my recently smoothed steering column back in the car and hooked it all up. VERY happy with the results after studying Dusterdude72's How-to article. Maybe $15 in materials.
Moved mine around in the garage so I can get to the passengers side for the quarter repair. Boy I forgot how much needs to be done on that side. Have to repair the striker as it is blown out. Trunk extension needs replaced. I had already removed the quarter and welded in an outer wheel house repair section I pulled from a car I parted years ago. Only issue with that was it had run slicks on it so they had cut the lip off of it. Will have to repair that before fitting the replacement quarter panel
After almost 30 years... I decided to pull the "Black" center grill off and put back my "White" grill that has been hanging on the garage wall like forever... Blew off the Arizona dust and... Wow, forgot what it looked like almost. Hmmmm ?
Many, many years ago... I wanted to be different... so I did a Black one... Well, seems over the years... almost everyone (here) with a 65 'cuda is sporting "Black"... so I was no longer different ??? Did that make sense ???
Now, have to see if anyone notices next trip to Saturday night hangout... but I'm liking it !!
Drove the 70 Swinger to make a weekly beer run, it refreshes my tired soul. Mostly stock, no heating problems, no electrical problems, no steering/ braking problems. It can be an everyday car if needs be, ah..the simple things in life.
Still looking for pieces, think i finally latched onto a rear end.
If this falls through, im putting a bid in on a early 70's running dart. Whole driveline will go in.
Pulled my old radiator that had a leak (caused by my own stupidity) in preparation for new radiator and ATF cooler install.
The new radiator is a Griffin MegaCool, p/n 8-70038-LS. I did not get the shroud and fans at this time, but I hope to in the spring with my tax refunds. I was very happy with the /6 Griffin radiator that I bought about two years ago from a member here.
The new ATF radiator is a B&M SuperCooler stacked plate cooler, p/n 70274.
68 Barracuda with newer style water pump inlet on passenger side.
Tomorrow is my 1 day off a week for a while. ...so I'm gonna take the 'Cuda out for a nice drive tomorrow morning!
I'll try to find a nice place to take some glamor shots and post them up!
