That's ALWAYS how it starts....LOL
It'll be a LOT easier to bolt that new water pump on this way, for sure!

drove the barracuda up to my friends in the mountains (ok hills, around 2,000 ft) and hung out. Then drove around with a buddy checking out all the other classics out in my area. great day

finished welding in passenger side front and rear torque boxes saturday, i have a few welds to touch up here and there, a fair bit of grinding to do, and then i can apply some primer. since its labor day today, and i am on a payed holiday, once my wife wakes up from recovering from night shift work , i will see about getting out there today and making some much needed progress. if i get far enough along today i will post progress pix.

Matt

its not that bad, its only one hundred dollars.

while the fenders are still off

We decided to remove the rocker arms on the stroker and install a restrictor (for oil) to the rockers, engine has full time oiling (to rockers)

004-1.jpg

also finished wrapping the headers (left over from a turbo build) plus with the fiber-glass hood,
decided the wrap would be better

Didn't like this first set,we ran last year

008.jpg

so we built a more compact set,
1 3/4 into 1 7/8, into a 3 1/2 collector

I got the differential put in my 8.75 today. Gettin the foam end gaskets tmrw so hopefully get rearend buttoned up tmrw night or Wednesday.

This past weekend I finally got a lot accomplished. It took me 3 years to get to the DMV and get my Val in my name and ownership. After that I finally completed my power front disc brake conversion, which had been on hold for 2 years. Thirdly, I rebuilt the rear drums. And last but not least took my first legal shake down run to the gas station around the corner. One of the best feelings ever! Up next is finding a proper 69 grill/hood/bumper for it and some other small maintenance items.

What I did on labor day. I finished major prepping on my 67 cuda undercarriage, and applied primer. Got a few welds to dress up yet, and other little spots that I have to fix before I apply seam sealer and get it ready for paint. Everything was starting to get flash rust on it.

First 8 pix show how far she has come since I took her apart a few years ago. some idiot previous to my ownership hacked a hole for a floor shift, and cut the transmission crossmember in 2. So i had to replace it, along with the rotted floorpan.

The last 2 are when I rolled her on her side. The last pic all my torque boxes i fabricated are welded up, subframe connectors done, everythings been scraped clean and primered from the firewall to floor pinch weld back to the rear.

still got more work to do from the firewall forward, family life makes working on it a bit slow going, but its nice looking at it in one color and seeing it progress.

Matt

just remember, Its not that bad, its only one hundred dollars.
