What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Stretching a bit as I'm working on one of my trailers, not my car. Sanded it up and power washed it. Getting it ready for a coat of paint, reinstall the center boards, and prep it to sell it. It will deteriorate sitting out in the Florida heat and it's too nice of a well-made trailer to let that happen. I don't use it enough to justify keeping it.

I got my frontend on my 73 Scamp the way I want and now thinking about making a fiberglass hood and my own design on the scoop. Not sure if I will, I know I can do it just going to give it some thought right now.

Mocked up the 4 speed linkage and shifter. Getting ready to install the engine and trans this coming Saturday.View attachment 1716344009
Exhaust manifolds installed, car positioned, jack ready. I dropped the center steering link out to give us more room to maneuver. I'm ready for my help to show up tomorrow morning at 9:00, and we'll have the engine and trans installed. This 25-year project is finally starting to look like something!!

The factory used a pad to go between the body and the gas tank to prevent wear and rattle. When I installed my new tank, I cut off a few pieces of roofing felt paper that I had laying around and glued it to the tank. I also wedged a few pieces of neoprene into the space near the back of the tank to make it a good tight fit.

Let there be light(s)

Sorted out the LEDs. Need to get those under dash gauges dimmed

Pulled the speaker... It was suspended dust crumble. Need to decide on radio... Refurb or have it's guts updated

Brought my '75 Duster (Day 2 look) out of garage jail where it's been the last 5-6 months. Swapped in an 8.75 w/4.11 sure-grip, added Cragars S/S rims, replaced heater core, new carpet, detailed engine, etc. One thing led to another! Today was the shakedown cruise, which went pretty good. Still have an ignition or carburetor issue though, breaks up on acceleration, but smooth in cruise mode. I'll post a dedicated thread if I can't figure it out.
