Any recomendatins on what degree thermostat I should use? 67 Dodge Dart re built 273, bored .020, 4 barrel Isky cam, 2 barrel, automatic, stock, stock, stock. Mostly used for summer/spring/fall cruises, some parade duty. Any brand suggestions? Just the cheapy Gates brand or is there something better. Seems like I used to run a 160 degree thermostat.
Thanks
Aaron

I'd start out with a 180* or better, that'll hold the water in the radiator long enough to cool it a 160* may let the water keep flowing and never cool down by staying open.....from experience but jmo.....Wagg's

P.s. they seem to make hp and better gas mileage around 200*

Also available is a "fails open" or "fail safe" feature,, so if it goes bad, it sticks open,, and doesn't overheat, leaving you stuck somewhere..
