What is going on with Trick Flow??

-
It's actually the Suez, but we got the point. "May take weeks" holy log jam Batman! Kid says $400M an hour is being stopped up through that passage.

A lot of castings are made in China now because the dopes in this country made it nearly impossible to run a foundry. That's because they figured out there are some very lucrative careers to be made in environmental control.

So now, instead of regulated industry in this country, we have unregulated industry in China and Mexico. I guess the air in Mexico stays right in Mexico then eventually evaporates into outer space.

It’s a shortage of materials to make the parts that we desire. China is buying all the scrap metal they can get their hands on. This leaves little for the manufacturers in the USA.

Apparently TF is owned by Summit. I have a pair of TF 440 heads ordered with Summit. The estimated shipping date keeps getting postponed. Latest date is now May 25.

One would think that Summit should know what is happening with companies they own....

Is there anybody in the know or in the industry that knows the true situation?
Summit showed valve stem seals for the Trick Flow 190’s as being out of stock with no other info. Instead of talking to some girl working at home sitting in bed with her laptop and asking her what’s up with the seals, I called Trick Flow and talked to some dude who knew what a valve stem seal was, he said go ahead and order it, it’ll ship, they had them. As for the heads or anything else I’d call Trick Flow for usable info and then you will know what the real deal is

Maybe not, but literally every industry is affected.
All polymer material production is being hammered right now, raw materials like bauxite are scarce, prices are unstable for almost any materials which makes it tough to run a business. I've literally seen some aluminums change by 500% in a day. If you're not on the phone with a distributor the exact minute something is on offer for a reasonable price, you're going to be waiting another 20-26 weeks for material.
Every time material runs thin, spindles shut down and people get sent home early. Mistakes start to pile up when they get restarted too. It's a **** show in the manufacturing world right now - which is a real kick in the nuts since demand is great.
Our company had ~8 months worth of inventory on the shelf last March. By June it was depleted - and that was while still producing at 75% capacity in the meantime. Then for the first time in 12 years there was no OT available because we had nothing to build.

We are battling now to get a specific type of Paper for the presses as a whole bunch of Mills are gone..... We have nobody to blame but ourselves.... I feel like a stage is getting set for a bigger problem. Hope not but oh well....

In the meantime, does everyone have toilet paper?

I'll trade a truckload for a set of Trick Flow 240 heads. New of course, you wouldn't want use TP would you.

"Each of the cylinder heads are proudly Made in the USA and must pass a strict durability test prior to being put on the market. Trick Flow helps racers save money and have proven performance for their vehicle that is dyno-tested and proven."

From this article: International Hot Rod Association - Trick Flow’s New Cylinder Heads Provides “Ultimate Bolt-on Performance”

They say made in the USA, not just assembled. That tells me it's cast in the states, but who knows.

It’s a shortage of materials to make the parts that we desire. China is buying all the scrap metal they can get their hands on. This leaves little for the manufacturers in the USA.

Double bingo here.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that Trick Flow heads were cast in the US by Edelbrock. (most of Edelbrock's heads are out of stock too,)

Correct, TF castings are done by Edelbrock.
I’m just tired of Correcting that statement.
If not, prove me wrong........
Dare ya!

The thing about valve/hardware availability being the issue was BS....the bare castings weren't in stock either.
440 source had some 240s in stock just a few weeks ago.

Don't forget the main shipping route, the suez canal has been closed for over a week the backlog that creates is xtra weeks for parts. Gotta get to distributer that then send to companies etc.

TF heads have parts coming through the canal?
And this is verified info you know as a fact?
And why TF heads are delayed?
Even though this TF head issue is a problem post COVID and pre canal?

Forget it Rumble, it appears this thread is more about people's own conspiracy fantasies rather than facts...

If you look at the timing and what has/hasn't been available, all signs seem to point to the recent changes at the company formerly known as Edelbrock, since they did handle the raw casting side of TF's production..

For all we know there are cost and term negotiations going on with the new conglomerate and the whole thing is the result of one side leveraging against the other...there that's MY conspiracy fantasy:D:D

The TF backlog started waaaaaaaaaaay before the canal was blocked....
I just checked Summit today. Put back another week, now early June.
I have emailed TF twice, no reply.

Frankly, I don't think anybody at Summit [ who supposedly owns TF ] or TF care....

Thats because the democrats have kept raising taxes , to where the factories cant compete w/ cheap china labor , and Trump wasnt in long enough to get things completely straightened up , and what he did get right the dumbass bunch of power hungry idots in there now have already started messing up !!

It could be a material shortage [ which I doubt; this country mines & exports a huge variety of minerals..& sells to all-comers ].

Whatever it is, pathetic that nobody answers enquiries about their products.

your China goods come across the Pacific to your west coast not through Egypt

Practically nobody responds to emails these days. Call the tech department at Trick Flow for answers.

Summit, Hughes, 440source, Mancini answer emails.
Catching people by phone can be difficult when you are on the other side of the world....

I ordered and paid for an
ATI powerglide case from Jegs. Out of stock on backorder and even ATI can’t give me a production date. Raw materials and a change in casting process are the listed delay.

Have any of you guys in the US wanting TF parts tried ringing TF? I see they have a phone # on their webpage.
As I said earlier in this thread, I have emailed them twice, no reply.

I tried calling TF customer service several times, they don’t answer.
