What is going on with Trick Flow??

-
Same goes for Mancini, taking no phone calls at this time due to COVID issue, also guy there I’ve been emailing back and forth hasn’t responded to my last.... but you can still order online as the warehouse is functioning Ugh:(

I called them a few days ago and had no problem. I was only on hold for about 3 minutes.
I tried calling after I posted my last post and still no answer.

What time of day are you calling?

If I remember right, it was between 11am and 1pm Central Standard Time.
It worked, I was able to get a hold of them between those time frames. I asked Trick Flow about the delay and they said it was because of having a hard time getting the valves. So I asked customer service about buying bare heads without no springs with no valves and the guy just went quiet.

I’m glad you were able to get through to them. They told me the same thing. I didn’t ask about buying bare heads though. I ended up buying a pair of heads from 440source. They should be delivered tomorrow. I’m working with Isky to get the springs I need for my application, as PAC somehow doesn’t have any.

Yeah the "hardware issue" is a BS excuse and has been from the beginning. They haven't had the bare castings available either, not for awhile. I'm glad you called them out on it, not that it changes anything..

Get used to it guys. The gun owners can’t find bullets, anything that needs to be made of cast aluminum is struggling to find components, fighting the EPA to meet code, and foundries to do the casting. They are probably still fighting coronavirus and who knows what else. I’ve talked to the guys at cosmetics, ATI, and Milidon and keep hearing the same stories over and over. And it’s not going to be fixed in the near future so fashion your seatbelts and plan your projects way ahead. My son is paying for a transmission case that he may or may not see this year but he hates to get his money back from Jegs and pull himself out of the waiting line. I personally know three guys waiting for Cometic head gaskets and with a little planning ahead on their part could have ordered them months ago and would have had them.

What is this planning thing you’re talking about?

I have a number of friends in various industries who tell me supplies are running out. Plywood is getting wicked expensive, so is most lumber. Milodon hasn't had windage trays in months. My Gerst front end I ordered is behind schedule because they haven't been able to buy steel. It's the early days of an ugly time that we can expect to go on for another 4 years.

Gerst is undergoing major changes which should shorten up waiting times.

My front end will be the next that departs the Gerst facility, according to Carl. Luckily.

I have been waiting on my ProMaxx shockers since the beginning of November. I attempted to just bite the bullet and order the Trick Flows but that was a no go either. I may be wrong but from what I have been told Edelbrock, ProMaxx, and Trick Flow castings all come from the same Chinese foundry. Seems sad that we are in this boat but not surprising.

Edelbrock casts there heads here in the USA!
ProMaxx is a chink head.
IDK/not sure about the TF’s.

Now the supply of aluminum is another story......

Did you try 440source for the TFS heads? They had a few sets available last week.

There not listed on the site anymore.
I think that would mean there sold out...

I ordered the Promaxx CNC ported head for BB in November also. I called after a while, was told they are waiting on castings. Apparently their castings are sitting on a ship outside of port in California. Not sure what the backup is, probably a confluence of many many things at once...

Yea, I finally threw in the towel yesterday. They are supposed to be giving me my money back today and I am going to order the worked over Edelbrocks from Hughes.

I got a notification today from Summit about the TF 240 heads I ordered in January.

New estimated ship date is mid June. Not holding my breath, because the date has changed before...

From the SE Tx Pneywoods. There is NO shortage of pine timber, mills have been running as usual, NO big China bug problem in the countryside. The shortage and PRICE is all BS! It is simply demand on lumber and plywood, IMO.
Shortage and problem with other areas like aluminum and foundaries and everything else, I have NO idea what the heck it is all about. Bu there is NO lumber shortage here!!! Maybe elsewhere, but the prices are way way up!

Well, guess what folks. Got an email from Summit to sat my TF heads have shipped. Must have been those extra Hail Marys..........

Edelbrock casts TF heads at their foundry in California. Edelbrock headquarters is moving or moved from California out of state. The foundry is staying in California because regulations won’t let them open up a new one.

This was coming from TF and why the delay in the heads.
