I remember finding a 74 road runner IN TOWN for $1000.I HID MINE FOR TWO YEARS BEFORE THE WIFE FOUND IT! That count?
An investment Greymouser7 looking after your wife's future. It will never go down in value only up. Better than letting your money sit in the bank collecting about 0 interest each year. And tell her your worth it. Hope that helps or your in the dog house. lolI remember finding a 74 road runner IN TOWN for $1000.
A deployment goes by, another month and then the wife is setting up an inflatable sprinkler slide for our 2 year old and she asks, “Where did this road runner come from? Did you buy another car?”
...hehehehe
Wow I guess it would be hard to just pick one. Good job...Where do i begin.
Dragged home a 1967 dart when i was living with my parents and they said i would never finish it.
I did the wheel tubs because i had to repair floor.
Custom built some 15x10 rims because i wanted dog dish hubcaps.
Designed and built a disc brake setup for the 8 3/4 because someone said it was not possible.
Narrowed a c body 8 3/4 and recut splines on axle with bridgeport.
Installed a hydroboost setup from an 01 ram diesel truck because of low vacuum.
Switched to electric power steering from a nissan cube because i wanted header clearance for a future big block swap.
I'm just the opposite I do body and paint but not running gear.My greatest achievement at this point is being about "halfway" through the body and paint process. I had some small amount of help from other people yearas ago but it got to the point where i had to finish it myself as I am sure it always does with body and paint. i got the trunk, underhood and doors and windows cut in,and I was just showing the wife my cut in work on the door openings and said "If I can get the rest of the car looking like this Ill be good. I can wrench and rebuilt engine trans front end exhaust, and I can do electrical, body and paint is a learning curve for me.
You might say I am slowLOL! Friends ay "it looks good when are ya spraying it" I say "it isn't ready yet..." I am at the final body work bfore the second coat of primer, you know where you are blocking and filling the "small issues" my goal is to get the second coat of primer and block that without having to mud anything...I'm just the opposite I do body and paint but not running gear.
Damn you should have been my neighbor.
Would love to help I like sanding and blocking. Are you using a guide coat? not to tell you what to do with your car just some people don't know what that is.You might say I am slowLOL! Yes, I have used a guide coat and will use one on the second coat of 2 K. I have a question, on the sealer does that get sanded or is it spray on ,let dry then paint?Would love to help I like sanding and blocking. Don't have to sand sealer as long as you don't wait more than half an hour to apply the base color and at about 70* don't put the base color on till the sealer has dried for at least 15 minutes. Putting paint on or primer or sealer or clear to fast can cause problems just as much as waiting to long. Lots of guys on FABO and me would be happy to help just ask.Yes, I have used a guide coat and will use one on the second coat of 2 K. Your using Epoxy primer for blocking and re priming?Yes, I have used a guide coat and will use one on the second coat of 2 K. I have a question, on the sealer does that get sanded or is it spray on ,let dry then paint?
I epoxied the first coat over bare metal, then a round of filler then 2 K over that and now i am after the small filler spots then I plan another coat 2K than block. Keep in mind the sanding, i know it sounds like thick layers of primer but most of it has been sanded and sanded...the car is rust free but the flanges from the quarter and lower patches etc have filler, plus all the dings etc. there is more filler than I would have liked but it is rust free.Your using Epoxy primer for blocking and re priming?
I'll PM you.I epoxied the first coat over bare metal, then a round of filler then 2 K over that and now i am after the small filler spots then I plan another coat 2K than block.
