what is the most Desirable A body line

I would say the 1969 GTS.

But then again…I may be biased!

1 68 gts
2 69 cuda
3 68 cuda
4 71 demon
5 71 duster
6 67 gts
7 67 cuda
8 70 duster
9 69 dart ugly grill and tail lights

Tough to compare cars with options not available in other years. Like a 68 383 GTS convertible to a 70 318 Duster.

The original question said body line so I would take that as a /6 2dr body style that was available in every body line. Duster/Demons are fastback (VL29 & LL29) versions of Valiant/Dart . So comparable to 67-69 Barracuda fastback.

Right now, Demons seem to be the hot a-body builder. Here’s my opinion on current desirability $$$ if all were /6 auto cars in same condition.

Highest selling $$ on top.

71 Demon (fastback A-body)
68 Barracuda Fastback
68 Dart
69 Dart
71 Duster (fastback)
70 Duster (fastback)

69 Barracuda fastback
67 Barracuda fastback
72 Demon (fastback)
72 Duster (fastback)

70 Dart
67 Dart
68 Barracuda coupe
69 Barracuda coupe

67 Barracuda coupe
71 Dart
68 Valiant
69 Valiant
67 Valiant

Within the groupings things get close.

I'm real partial to the 67-69 Valiants and Darts, But I also like most any other A-body you'd care to mention. However, first place goes to a 69 Dart, even if it's this half-baked orphan sitting in my yard waiting to get its turn in the shop.

When I get done with it I'd like it to look like this one, with the jury out on hood scoop or not.

The red one looks good except it's a low rider. Too much tire is in the wheel well on the rear.

well i have a '69 dart gt, a '70 duster and a '72 swinger. i still NEED a '67 notch and a '69 fastback. a demon would be welcome as well but no valiants or scamps need apply.

Agreed, to an extent. I'd have it ridins a shade higher but the rake is excellent. Sadly I doubt mine will ever be shiny like that one. Card carrying member of Beaters-R-Us here.....

Oh Dave, Where are you??
He also has 6 max wedge cars, and a host of of other great iron. Last time I talked to him he was restoring his 63 max wedge convertible 3 speed car, the only one known. He’s had that car since he was 16. But for all the cars he has, he still loves his 60 Valiant stations wagons the best!

my vote (preference) would be for a 69 Dart Swinger, 2 or 4 door. Just plain, clean, transportation.

When I hear 340, I think 69 GTS. My first was 340 auto with 3.91 rear, good car. My next 69 GTS was a 440 auto, not a good car, I didn't like it.
Then came my 71 Demon 340 auto 3.55 that I liked the best of the three. I like the looks and the improved aerodynamics. Less wind noise too.
But I see the 69 GTS 340/auto/3.91 as the ultimate usable low buck hot car buy in back in the day.
