you need to get your car up to approx 60 mph-- flip the lever on the black box & pull it open-- that should clean out the debris from the fresh air vent. The other metal push button switch operates the hi-low beam selector. Lawrence

That is an outside air duct, you can open this to get fresh air to the cabin, but you may want to check them for leaves, acorns ...etc before you open them up,or you will have all this stuff flying out at ya,if the car is moving.

That would be your air conditioning!! LoL!

Is your brakelight in the dash staying on?? Looks like the parking brake switch isn't touching the bar of the handle!

Cool; manual pissers pump right in between. I haven't owned a vehicle with that option yet.

WORD OF CAUTION!!! if you want that vent to continue to work...DO NOT FORCE IT OPEN!!! Most of them get rusted closed and if you force it you will tear the hinge rivets right out of the side of the vent housing.... They typically need to be lubed with penetrating oil and left to sit for quite a while. then lube them again and let them sit..... then very gently turn the handle and gently pull if it does not BEGIN open easily....more lube more wait, if it opens a lil bit, do the open & close routine open it as far as it will go using gentle pressure then close it, then open it again, then close it...then open it and lUBE it then close it....continue until it open freely..... it is a real ***** to replace those rivets once you tear em out

and you can put beer cans in there in winter time and it will keep them cold

after ya lube em up and get em all werkin real good......take a shop vac and vacume them puppies out be prepared for the surprise at 60 mph when ya find ya missed some Lol

The fresh air vents are simple but effective and you can also open the doors just a little if you only want a little fresh air...

Make sure you're wearin sunglasses when you open the vents goin down the road. Cause the one place that debris always finds to go is right in your eyes.

mine contained a mouse and her nest of six young ones on the passenger side, Imagine what would have happened if I would have opened that while driving!

I found a half smoked joint in the passenger side of a Duster a few years back. Oh the horror to think that someone was smoking a Marie Jane in that car. Needless to say it had to be sampled to varify it's contents.:)

LLLOOOLLL !!!!!!!!! All these stories are funny.....and true.

Mine suck the hot air from the engine compartment as I don't have a rear hood seal. My fiberglass hood raises up a tad in the rear letting the extremely hot
air go right into the vents. I can bake a couple of potatoes in those vents in
about 10 minutes.:D

And just when you think it clear of debris, clean it again. When I had fenders off the car, I hosed the cowl down, used a hanger to loosen up the crud, air hose to blow all the stuff out then vacuumed it out. Put car back togehter. I was driving to a show 30 miles away had the air box open on a warm day. All of a sudden pass a semi going the other direction. I was doing 60 he was going at least 50. All of a sudden I was covered in stick leaves acorns and everything else. The crap was all over the car, under seat in the back dash covered me and went up my shorts too.
So now I drive with it open all the time so crap dont get built up again.

I was running late for a show once driving with them open stuck behind a guy going like 30 so I pass him they speed up and I have to go like 70 and poof all in my eyes and my car was filthy inside, I was so mad because it was like my second show. Good memory now haha
