I live just a few miles north of Cedar Rapids. Glad to see there's some Mopar guys nearby

Back when I was racing stock cars, Gary ran a. Mopar powered modified. When he got towards the front row, you better watch out!!! He'd lift the left front tire the whole straight away and drive around those hi dollar chevys! One night he showed up at the county fair races with no claim rule and a bunch of big shots from around the state. I noticed that night he had a 340 block and that thing sounded VERY ANGRY! Won his heat race by half a lap, then started mid pack and in a few laps he was gone!!! Not sure where he was having his work done, but his motors were second to none in at a all Chevy track

I have heard that. I don't know who built his engines. You can bet the next time I see him I will ask. LOL
 
Maybe R&J Performance was putting some of their trick parts under his good.lol

Ididnt think they did much cast iron anymore? Had them do some work many years ago at their little shop in Dysart. They're top notch! Thought I heard they were just doing top fuel stuff and hi end aluminum work?

Radar has been keeping himself busy with motorcycle heads and the aluminum work. Woody does the cast work. Pete Williams was there too but retired and moved south. Pete owned a nostalgia top fuel that Radar drove. Radar rebuilt John Force's heads for a while. Blow up on Sunday, Next day air them to Radar to fix and send them back by the next weekend. I can see why he quit that.
 
I've heard the stories about Forces heads.lol I've seen Radar run several times over at Cordova at the World Series. Last time he was running the front engine fuel car
 
Sorry, I mis spoke. Pete Williams was the motor man for Dale Suhr's Orange Crate Nostalgia dragster. Radar drove it.

Anybody go to the car show in Monticello today? I'm stuck at work all weekend but my brothers been sending me pics of a couple nice mopars. Even a General Lee jet funny car
 
I'm a hour away but I have never been. You'll have to go and report back with photos. Jet powered General Lee? When will it all end? LOL

The local street machine club put together a car show/cruise list for many years but all good things must come to an end. I was told about "Ricks List" which is loaded with cruise information for us Iowa guys. Here's a link:Ricks List
