Why are people so stupid? I recently put the Mustang I have for sale here on craigslist. I added that I would be interested in a trade for a Mopar.... here is an email that I got...

I saw your ad on craigslist and I'm curious. The title of your ad is "Mustang/Mopar". A mustang like the one you are selling is a ford product. Mopar is an aftermarket company who makes parts for Plymouth, Dodge, and Chrysler muscle cars. So, why exactly would you put Mopar on an ad for a mustang? I'm not trying to be mean it's just that anyone who knows anything about cars is going to see that and think you are really stupid about cars so it's gonna be hard to believe you did everything you listed. I'm thinking you might want to change the title of the ad. Just thought you should know.

Here is the ad

I have up for sale my 89 Lx. The car is white, with white pony rims. Very rare tan/beige interior. I have owned this car for around 15 years now. It is mostly stock with a few performance options but not many.

K&N.
Hurst Shifter.
Hooker Super Comp Shorty headers.
BBK Off road H-pipe.
3.55 Richmond gears.
A/C eliminated/smog pump also.
Accel 300 Ignition.
Flowmaster exhaust.

I am an ex body man/painter, and about 5 years ago the body was stripped to bare metal. I then did the body, and painted the car with Sikkens. Paint is still in wonderful condition. New windshield, rear glass, heater core, carpet, floor mats.

The engine was rebuilt about 5k ago... and 6 years ago or so. The car is very rarely driven. was a "stock" rebuild. Nothing fancy. Trans is stock and untouched. 5speed manual.

The car has been sitting for quite some time and will need a few things in the future. I would suggest some new suspension components as most of the is stock and original. Motorsport lowering springs were installed in 1998. The odometer says 40k.. it is rolled over and is actually 140k. The car also has the 140mph speedo.

The car is located in Southern Wisconsin.I am interested in cash/or possibly MOPAR trades.
For trades I am interested in 67-69 Darts, 67-69 Barracuda's, and 62-70 B Body Mopars. Thanks for looking.

No problem, your ad will get to those who KNOW what you're talking about. That dude obviously don't!

I'm going out on a limb here but I think "coldlady21" is slightly retarded.

Ya got a real "Rocket surgeon, or Brain Scientist" I don't know which...LMFAO...

You need to post said moron's email addy here so we can give him/her some proper Mopar schooling.

What a douche wipe.

Ad title Mopar/Mustang might draw even more attention.
Some people just don't get it.

I actually think he is a she, not a he she but a she. Is a blond reference even worthy?

That's mild.
Just think of the response you would have had if you called it a ''Fox'' body Mustang.
The mind reels on what they would have said then.

Very true! :violent1:

I think I met a Mensa member.

Haha, Here is the next set of responses...

Me :"Wow, are you ever a dumb f~(k."

Her:
Well then I guess this guy is dumb too! You didn't have to be so rude!

Mopar (MOtor PARts) was originally known as Chrysler Motor Parts Corporation, and was created in 1929 by Chrysler as its parts company.

I'm not sure exactly when, but eventually the name was changed to Mopar. During the '60s with the heightened interest in "factory hot rods" the name Mopar itself became synonymous with the Chrysler Corporation cars themselves due to the popularity of factory "go-fast" parts.

Mopar continues to this day as Chrysler Group's parts division. They carry "performance" parts, OEM replacement parts and other accessories, and are nothing like Ford's Special Vehicle Team, which just tweaks Ford cars to make them faster and does not sell parts (to my knowledge).

(For your personal enlightenment, Chrysler Canada also used the name Autopar (AUTO PARts) up until the 1990's as its factory parts division)
