Winter time model building thread.

-
You guys are killing me here! I wont be doing that for awhile. Got a few from a friend.
But just don't have the spirit.
Hell, I only took the Duster around the block a couple days ago. Changed the oil and
Remembered that I took the tach bracket out to build a few for people. Now the one
for my car was in the fire. Damn it!

I am game. never posted here before. usually just stay in the background. don't know why, I love to blabber. name is Al, go by Tubbs. big pro street fan, have a 69 pro street road runner garage shelf (yea, been sitting for a while). maybe this thread can get rolling again.

well, I don't do models during the winter, but being in the extensively hot AZ summers, I do a lot of model building when it is too hot to do anything else.

Here's one I just finished for a friend of mine! I scratch built the flat hood so I could install the correct scoop that is on his car. The only things I did not replicate are the sunroof as the model didn't come with one (plus this is a freebie for him so I didn't spend the extra time to cut it out), and I couldn't find any wheels similar to his. I ordered a spray can of the correct paint code from the dealership to match his car(Green With Envy). I built this for him as a partial trade for some parts he has for my Fargo (he has no idea I've done this for him), we've already came to an agreement regarding pricing & payment but this is a little extra as he's giving a hell of a good deal on the parts. He was into the dealership with his wife a few weeks ago and he bought some hats, signs, & shirts for his "man cave". His wife made a comment regarding the fact that she can never seem to find any memorabilia with "her car" on it (lots of Challenger stuff but not much in the Green With Envy). I decided after hearing her say that and the fact that I had shown him the new catalogs (which he ordered more from & she was a little upset:eek:ops:) I felt "bad" for her and thought I'd build the model. The model will now give her something of her own car now. lol

super job on the challenger green with envy,,,

QUESTION,, A little off topic,, has any one ever shipped models ? like one at a time ? if so who did you use ? i have a few kits im going to advertise very soon,,not looking to get rich,,just dont have the time to do what i was going to build,, the shipping price thru the post office for one model at a time may scare any one off from buyng a kit unless they have to have it,,,more then one kit may be cheaper if some oen wanted more the one

any info would be great,,,,thanks in advance,,,

I am building, just not posting any pictures.... don't want anyone getting jealous :D.... I throw some stuff up here soon, once I get my feet wet, only have 5 posts (plus I am a closed a body fan, own a b body, don't tell no one).

Were pretty laid back here, you wear the right badge so all is good. B body A body whatever your ride is very cool.

Another build I have going not a Mopar but still cool.

Well I guess, I'll chime in a bit here.... I'm working on a Diecast "General Lee" that someone made into an abortion that I want to bring back to life, Only, NOT going to be a General Lee when I'm done! Just a 69 Charger that's got a Hemi under the hood, that's going to be one of 3 colors....... Hemi Orange (LOVE the color, my favorite color) BUT isn't going to happen, BUT, Plum Crazy Purple, OR Panther Pink is going to be 2 of the colors that it will be come one of! Just haven't decided yet....

Then, I got 2 1970 Coronet Super Bee's to rebuild, that are from my child hood.....One has a Hemi, the other a 440 Wedge 6 pack in it....Both are tubed out and have M/T 50's on the rear.....May wind up making at least one of them original Mopar again!

Then a rebuild again, of a 65 Chevy pick up I just want all back together as it was built..... I did this one too and it merely fell apart over the years....

Will get pics in a few days!

wow i don't even want to put mine up not near as good as whats up hear

Here are some of my recent builds, three of them were gifts, the 41 Willys was a birthday present, the Chriistine was a "just because" from the same person and the 71 Plymouth Pro Stock was also from the same person and his claim to fame are his engines, I have been trying to get him to join For A Bodies Only.
Here's the 71 GTX done in One Touch Blazing Orange
