I should have both....is your wiper motor a 1 speed or variable?

Thanks, Mark

I think it's a one. It's never worked since I've had the car, and I don't have access to the car to check.

If anyone knows what came with a 64 dart 270 convertible, that's what it'd be.

Thanks

Both types were available. The single-speed wiper motor has two wires; the variable-speed has four. The single-speed switch has just two click-stop positions: turned to the right it's on, turned to the left it's off. The variable-speed has off all the way to the left, then a range of motion as you turn it clockwise to vary the speed of the motor.

I'm going to get out to where i have it stored today and check it out. Depending on what mine is, and depending on what I can find available, is it possible to switch between the two?

Yes. You need the motor, the switch, the wiring between the two, and the cam, spring, spacer washers and clips that go between the wiper motor's crank arm output stub and the wiper link bar. They're not the same. Functional interchange on all of this stuff is '64-'66 Dart, Valiant, and Barracuda ('63 switch will work, but other parts won't). Take care on the switch, though; there are differences in switch stem length for the various dashboard configurations of Darts, Valiants, and Barracudas of those years. And the windshield washer button setup is different in '64 than in '65-'66. If you use a '65-'66 switch in your '64 equipped with electric windshield washer squirter, you'll either have a hole in the middle of your '64 knob or you'll want to swap on a '64 knob from a car not originally equipped with electric squirters.
