So, things changed up after stumbling across a 6.4 that just had to good of a price to pass.. Sold off all the 5.7 stuff. With that, I'm starting a new thread to track things and progress.

The 6.4 that I grabbed was out of a 2019 Charger with 32k miles (got Hellcat Swapped) So this past weekend, I went ahead and got the 318 outta the way, tossed on the Holley pan on the 392 and did a test fit.. Most just for the hell of it plus I wanted to get a rough idea of how much room I'd have for AC fittings behind the 6.1 intake. I pulled it back out and went ahead and pulled the steering column for mods and removed the dinosaur of a steering box.

TTI shorties and mids will be here today, plus I ordered a new Borgeson Box & Coupler along with motor mounts (Schumacher /6) from Classic Industries.. they had a little sale over the weekend. I wanna gonna just make my own mounts but screw it.. Also ordered the Holley in tank pump and a new 3/8 steel fuel line. I really do think I'm gonna beef up the 904 and run it. Not like it's gonna be at the track every weekend plus there are some guys that do prefer them at the track. To each their own, live and learn, time will tell yada yada.

I should have everything I need by Friday, to do a proper test fit this weekend.. Mounts, headers and steering box.I am gonna try to squeeze it forward a touch. However much the headers will allow. That probably means a little fab work on trans mount, column shift mount etc. but I really want that extra space. If the 6.4 intake will clear my lines, I'll just run it... maybe. The 6.1 intake is pretty sexy.

Going to also take this opportunity to clean and paint the engine bay.. stock color. Stripped most of the stuff out so far. Once it's all mocked, Ill get after it.

Theses are TTI mounts, but I think the Schumaker stuff could be modified in similar ways. Just to give you some ideas.

I've often wondered if the DS mount couldn't me modified in a similar way to clear a low mount AC compressor.

Also, in case you haven seen this thread, maybe it will be useful.

I actually did see that thread.. Lots of good info there. TTI no longer makes /6 K to gen 3 mounts anymore. I did see where someone did modify a set for the low mount in a thread somewhere

I actually like the Schumacher mounts better, if I was going to do a biscuit mount setup. Mostly just because the DS mount uses the actual motor mount bosses and leaves the AC compressor bosses open if someone wanted to get "creative". :)

Plus the TTI biscuit mounts can require some modifications to the rubber block and the Schumacher mounts delete the rubber biscuit entirely.

Watching!! I can't wait for the end product!!

Headers came.. Nicely packaged! 1-7/8 primaries with 2.5 collectors

I took several shots from different angles for anyone with questions. My Borgeson box and Shumacher mounts box should be here Friday.. So test fitting this weekend. A 2015-19 Jeep AC compressor will be needed. Aftermarket is around $165

I see you made your decision on header lengths. I think they will work just fine. It's better than stock manifolds for sure!!

Any chance I could twist your arm to see how those TTI headers might fit with the motor 1.75" forward when you mock it up? Maybe if I promised home baked chocolate chip cookies or something? :D

Oh I'm definitely moving forward as much as I can, so keep an eye out. Just let me hit that pipe sometime.. I think we're all smoking something to dump the money we do into these things lol
Probably the direction I would have gone if I hadn't already built a gas tank with a C5 Camaro pump recessed into it. Much less work and probably all most anyone needs.
I just put a new stock tank in, a few moths back. Made the most sense and so easy.

Holley’s way of telling you to turbo that junk.
I know, right?! I guess I got lucky.. I see some guys didn't get there's drilled and tapped like this one. I only went with the black pan because it was cheaper for some reason. Maybe they do it for the black pans.

My bare one didn't come drilled even though the listing said it was supposed to. Kind of seems like the plugs were even included but could be wrong. Pan was a similar deal to the headers, ordered it from Holley direct and waited like 4 months before finding one in stock on ebay and cancelling the order with Holley. So when I asked Holley why it wasn't drilled, the answer was "you didn't buy it from us so we can't help you".

I prefer the black pan myself. They didn't offer them in black when I bought mine.

There is no way too move forward more than 1/2... And I'm gonna have to work to get that! Move the motor mounting holes, do a little clearancing and maybe a smack or two.

Thanks! That explains why the Hooker headers run the #3 tube over the steering box.

Are you planning to move it forward? Is so, maybe cut the plate that the rubber block bolts to loose and weld it back on 1/2” back? Seems easier to me and it appears you can weld. Just an idea.

Moved the mounts, hacked on the new AC compressor and gave the headers a tappy tap or two. Chopped the k frame motor mount as well.. I'll pull it back tomorrow and do some fine tuning. I did achieve clearance for AC lines using the 6.1 intake and the 6 4 intake clears the firewall now. I'm bouncing back and forth on which way to go...

Pictures... Alot but I don't feel like sorting. Someone may find them useful

Steering mocked up.. Took about 3/8 off the thength of the shaft, for the Borgeson joint. Also notched the housed to clear the valve cover... Probably coulda took less. No need to chop the whole thing off that I can see.

Wow. There was a day I lived for mods like that. Today? Not so much. I'm sure it will all be worth though. Nice work.

I found that the Schumacher mounts are a little low.. According to TTIs spec page. So I made a couple shims to raise it a tad.
