I am about to purchase a late year 360 engine that is going to need to be rebuilt. I was wondering what price range am i looking at to have that done?
good answer....I agree, No matter how much you THINK your gonna spend it usually turns out to be double...$2,500.00 - $50,000.00
My bllock was allready bored and clean. So machine prices are per your machinest.
Otherwise, I got my short block done for abot $1250. I have everything else to finish it up with.
My last, just recently finished 360 was redone with ;
(Prices rounded off and approx;) )
KB-107+030 slugs $210 http://www.summitracing.com/parts/UEM-KB107-030/ (or http://www.summitracing.com/parts/TRW-8KH116CP30/ with rings)
Con Rods upgraded and cheaper than re-doind OE rods. Egale @ $500 http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ESP-6123C3D/
Moly rings under $38 http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SLP-E-251K30/
Bearings under $50 $4.50 X 8 = $40 http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CLE-CB481P/
oil pump $25 http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SLP-224-4166/
I also did my own cam bearings. I have the tool.
The balancing job with flywheel resurfacing was $345.
A complete cam shaft kit is a great deal like set ups from Comp Cams. Like this one; http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CCA-K20-223-3/
A MP gasket kit is a great money saver that will include more than you need and everything possible. Add a few bucks for small things and a few oil/fuel filters.
The total here so far is under $1500. No machine work included.
good advice rumble! i have a question, that MP gasket kit, what is the part number and price for the 360, and does it come with all the little freeze plugs and such?

Don't forget the cost to hot tank, bore, hone, cam bearings and plugs. This varies from region to region but can cost from $500 to $1000.
I did a quick search at Summit racing and came up with gasket set from Mr. Gasket, Sealed Power and Fel-Pro that range from $50 to $75 bucks. They didn't have any MoPar kits listed at all. Hummmmmmmm

The MP kits did not have frezze out plugs. Just gaskets. Timing cover seal, oil plate cover, (you know that metal plate where the oil filter spins onto? Of course we do, theres a gasket under it, which is included). oil pump gasket, exhaust manifold, intake, oil pan gaskets for the 360 and 318 engines.
Frezze out plugs, and other small parts are in the small part package. Sold seprately. Like this from Mancini racing;

$500 rods??
I need a break from here.
Are guys working for $5/hr in Georgia? :angry7: I wouldn't advise that anybody budgets a build using those prices.
