Stop in for a cup of coffee

I work at the range and typically I do all my practice sessions after hours. But I am traveling Out of state this weekend for a pistol event so I had to suck it up and shoot during regular hours. I love shooting vintage stuff. The Dan Wesson pistols are one of my favorites.

I was pretty lucky as a youngster living in the desert. Just walk past the garage and it was nothing but creosote and cactus for 40 miles. I still have the .22 Winchester bolt gun my father had as a kid. I could take his cigarette butts and stick them in the top of the berm across the dirt road and knock them down with that .22.

I still have my old Marlin tube feed 22 I bought at the hardware store when I was 12! Love that gun, still shoots great.

Morning! Wind is howling and its raining!:wtf:
Guess i should test run the generator today. Ice storm in this wind could spell disaster.

Might have to do that shed tear down day. All I shoot shotgun is 16 GA, just right for me and I reload them since they are hard to find.. Glad I have bought a bunch of 209 primers a few years ago. I bet they are hard to get now.

Any one shoot flintlock? I have one for black powder here and that is way different to shoot. Scares the crap out of you the first time. Flash...……………….Boom!

About 15 years ago a .22 semi auto rifle was given to me. It was never really used. Bought 1000 rounds for it and tried it out. Used 1/2 a box of shells and put it in my cabinet. Havent seen it since. I dont remember the last time i opened the gun cabinet.
Sitting next to my old .303’s
And some wierd russian rifle that my mother in law gave me.

I have one of those. Think it was US arms? 32 cal? Never shot it should. I have a inline also .45 cal shoots just like a reg rifle, just takes a minute to load.

Actually you can still get 209 primers. I also shoot a 16. I love it. But you cannot get for love nor money a small pistol primer. They are long gone. Guys are selling their inventory on flea bag for 300-400 dollars a brick. Normal price is around 35 dollars a brick.

.45 cal. After the BOOM I swear you could hear that mini ball flyin' through the air until it made that tremendous THUMP on the paper plate hung on the tree 20 yds away

I have a real odd ball 16 bolt action with a three round clip, no markings whatsoever and it has a accuchoke on it. feels like a 10GA kick. Bought it here at a gun shop, really odd. Best shotgun I have is a old Stevens 16 double barrel, like a extension of my arm.

Like my youth model Mossberg 500 20 ga. It fit so well and pointed like you were looking right down your arm.

Every now and then you get one like that. My Firestorm 45 is like that for me also.

1911s fit me like that. Colt really had their game on when they put those together. My Browning .22 has that same 1911 feel to it also.
Same here. The M9 the Army uses sucks, I hate the feel of it. It’s too too heavy, too wide and just blah. The 1911 fits perfectly. Love mine

I used to carry one in the military, best gun ever IMO. Shake it it rattled and clanked but sure shot well, always scored expert when requalifying with that. Did not like the Barretta 92, just did not fit my hand right.

One thing I like here is I can shoot off the back porch if I want to. Hell lift day was a example of that, kind of glad that bag of tannerite Tike brought did not go off. Had no idea a pistol round would not set it off. Might have been ugly for sure.
Yeah not fast enough velocity. Designed that way on purpose

Not quite a flintlock, but I got to shoot a Sharps once a the National antique black powder shoot in Freedom Indiana a few years back.

Just curious, anyone having ammo shortages near them? Around here, there’s no common calibers on the shelf, been that way since June. About the only calibers on the shelves no matter where ya go is 6.5 Creed and 22 Hornet. An occasional box of 12 gauge target loads. Everything else, not a box to be had.
