63 Dodge Dart, now let me see;)

lol, my hearing isn't what it used to be, when talking to Gary, I like to be able to hear him instead of saying what?? I do like quiet within reason and do like to hear my radio. However, going back in time, my '65 GTO, had a very nice sound from the Thrush mufflers. That was a cool car~ no pictures:( how sad.
Huh? What'd ya say?

Gee, that makes me want to cry, it's just incredibly beautiful! What a classic! ;)

Still have a little ways to go on the central AC vents, but looks much better. The newer AC controller could possibly fit in the original bracket.
have company coming over, got to get ready for em;)

that's well laid out and lookin good Darlin. It will all come together! You are getting a lot done in a very respectable amount of time already! Keep up the good work.

Taking a little break, weather is super all week long I hope. Removed the dart from the rotisserie hopefully for the last time. I can accomplish everything on the maxjax lift, just lots of little repairs. In a little while I'll shoot the body in high build primer(again) and begin really block sanding. Still need to weld in the front roof support(easy peasy). Lunch is ready ;)

Yes Jeff, I have a set of those, they don't look brand new any more! They really do help :thankyou:

hm, with the rotisserie out of the way, I could go ahead and play with the front suspension  , it's just lightly bolted up. I don't have the torsion bar adjusters yet nor shocks, nor lower control arm rebound bumpers. The parts are so clean I don't need any gloves.
I did some more body work on the "tub and doors, the sprayed 2 coats of high build that I'll sand on in the morning. Paint is on the way but won't be here until Monday:( Perhaps early next week the tub, doors and front fenders should be in its color~ that's exciting

I hit the corner of a building with my ‘65 about a foot up from the taillight. If I never have to “contour that body panel” again it will be too soon!

I’m also into my front end too just now and I’m quite jealous. Mine is prolly going back together with most of its road crud and brake dust. I’ll call it “patina”.

Great looking work ma’am!

Yes, I hear you on the contours! My left front fender was the worst as it apparently had a hard hit there in its life. I used my portapower to push the fender crunch back out, but the contours as you said, total pain! IT's not perfect perfect, but should be ok. If I had it to do all over again, I think I would have looked for a better project car~ meh, chalk it up to learning I suppose. I said I wanted a challenge

After welding this repair panel in, there was still a great deal of work making it acceptable. Kind of nerve wracking on this kind of repair.

I had to replace the same section... well I sorta used a bit cut from a washing machine and pop riveted into about the same spot you tack welded. Seemed like you could do no wrong with that edge right there. I found a hitch somewhere and used to pull a wooden sailboat with it. No motor so I had to sneak way down the ramps to get the darn thing off the trailer. Lol God i wish I had pictures of that.... loved that car!

hi, good evening;) Did a little block sanding, found a few low places, much more to do, then I went ahead in installed the rear axle, so pretty. It's nice to have it out of the way~ the garage is opening up!!

I was reading the latest copy of HotRod mag, and a guy did a 50 something Pontiac wagon. He painted his engine sorta the green you used, just darker, and did the interior on same color, all on a black car! Not factory of course, but striking. Back in the 90s I had 2 black 68 09 Roadrunners, one came with green int and the other blue. oem. Mopar would let people order combos not recommended special order.

Today, ordered the dust boot and clip for the torsion bars (darn the little things), then played with the old steering gear (It's worn out) (scrapped and media blasted), omg it was nasty. I won't be using this old gear, I'll be going with power steering in the near future. I should be able to put the Dart on wheels kind of soon just to move it around, the interior paint didn't arrived, perhaps tomorrow, if not, back to block sanding.

We have our oldest grandaughter turning 17, so off to the party!

I will consider the option of a manual gear~ however it would be easy to go from one to the other. The gear in the picture might look ok, but it's not. I've time to think on it

That little car with a GOOD manual box will drive down the highway so nice. Mopar PS back then had so little road feel. JMHO

:thankyou:

She doesn't look 17??
Well duh.....the 17 year old is the one in the back! :poke: :)

I'd say you've already spied the Borgeson PS box. You can get everything you need from Peter @BergmanAutoCraft . I've seen the setup in a local 65 Barracuda and it fits great. I'm strongly considering it for my 65 Barracuda. I've already got the correct double groove pulley on my motor....lol.

I agree 100% with this^^^^^ My 64 is manual steering and I love how it drives.
