63 Dodge Dart, now let me see;)

Hey Ray;). I have it, it came with the 75 duster engine, it’ll serve the purpose and a shroud for better functioning ac;)

You still have the original one? That in a good shroud should be more than enough air flow.

That's a Max Cooling fan, and will work just fine. If it needs spacers to get it closer to the radiator, they aren't hard to find. It won't make too much noise if it's as deep in the shroud as it should be. If it is....put a Cherry Bomb Glass Pack on the car or just turn the radio up. :)

Rusty had asked for some pics of my engine run stand. I was building something a while back and had some left over 4" channel. I had just enough to make it, could have been a little longer especially when putting a slant 6 on it. I first had made it for a Ford 302, then another 302, then a mopar 318, maybe another 318, then of course my slant 6.
I hope the pictures help Rusty, there can always be modifications, but it has worked out very well for me.

Each "adapter", one is for slant 6, another for the 318, and lastly for the Ford 302.

The back plate was some scrap plate and there are various holes to where I mount the bell housing. I have 3 bell housings and now just 2 flywheels.

I had some spool mounts and modded them to work for my slant. For the radiator, there's those long square tubing that slide out, or in, not shown are the rests for whatever radiator I'd be using.

I have another S6 bell housing.

The 302, funny

I would be delighted, has room for improvement, but it’s a good start;)

Ahh yes the backfiring 302 nothing like changing the firing order mid year after decades of the same order … a built in got you !

That's a nice run stand that didn't cost an arm and a leg....just an eardrum! :poke: How thick is the back plate where bellhousing's bolt? 3/16? I've got enough junk to build one, just need to hunt a big enough piece of scrap to do a back plate.

I wouldn't think the back plate would be as large as mine is, as said, it was just a piece of metal from a motorcycle stand for in a trailer. However, it does offer various heights for the rear of the engine to level it. The slant threw me a curve, when I bolted the intake, the degree angle on where the carb goes was way off. I just unbolted the back, lowered it, then redrilled holes! Gary's calling;)

Those Run Stands sure are handy.

Great test bed for testing carbs and ignitions too.

Nice Job...

2 barrel carb test on a run stand. ^^^

2 bbl carb test.jpg

The carburetor being tested is a 1956 Jeep 2 bbl off of a 6 cyl flathead called the "Super Hurricane".

It's a 2 bbl setup a lot like the Super 6, 2 barrel setup with the 2 bbl intake manifold.

Original test on the run stand was spitting sputtering > something was plugged. Took it all apart and cleaned it all out with carb cleaner and compressed air and small parts tag wires. 2nd test on the run stand, ran perfect with great throttle response. Went back on the '56 Jeep and ran real nice.

Was able to 100% isolate the carb problem, on a known good test engine. Told me a lot of things that I was trying to figure out under the hood of that Jeep during the initial diagnostics.

I like yours too, Casey. That's a niceun.

That ^^^ was kind of a spur of the moment thing. Stop everything and build the engine run stand, it will be so handy.

When the idea is fresh in your mind... and having the materials on hand to do the project helps too.

The idea ain't ever aged. It's that elusive material pile that escapes me. lol

What I am impressed with is how she engineers everything, and then no screwing around > gets it done.

Gee, see, I do cool things from time to time~ and yes, I'm cuter

oh oh, reminds me of that song, "its 5 o'clock somewhere", love that song!! I just put it on~ how relaxing

I don't want to make a habit of changing interior colors, but really wasn't all that bad. The color is a matt metallic black, very pretty in the sunlight. I left a lot of red, but won't be seen.

I wanted to black this out, so when I put in dark tint, or darkest allowed, it will look kind of like a GT.

I said, what the heck, went ahead and painted the grill.

Poor Gary.....got his hopes up for red, got a big smile when he saw it, then right when the afterglow of loving the red was starting to subside, BAM, his spirit was crushed with black! :poke: Just kidding....the black does look really good and will tie in with the exterior black.

 Sometimes I don't think he really cares, unless I ask him, but I should always make the decision. lol I was just getting flack about the Red. The Black does tie in as you said JD.

Just picking with you because I know you can take it in jest. :) You're absolutely right about it being your decision. I'm quite sure you let him have his choices in his own projects, so it all works out.

:thumbsup::thumbsup:
