Stop in for a cup of coffee

I have been seeing some of my doctors for 12 years, I had to wait a crazy amount of time one time but it was an emergency in the chemo room where people set in chairs to get services threw an I.V. , and that was a 1 and a half hour wait, seems like it's like clock work when I get my turn, sometimes I have time to smile and be a clown for the waiting room

Yes, I have walked out and said this has gotten ridiculous, reschedule me and leave, never got charged for those appointments.

Glad people stand there ground at these doctors office's, it's reality

So in theory today was the big day to remove wound dressing from surgery. One week post op check up. The staff has totally isolated themselves from the patient. Everything is automated but my appt today was with a real person. I get there 15 mins early as requested noting that if I am late or no show there is a reschedule fee etc. at thirty minutes beyond my appt time I ask the lady at reception how backed up they are? Keep in mind my appt is at 1000hrs, they open at 0900. She explains there is 3 patients ahead of me already taken back and another one ahead of me in lobby? WTF! I politely explained my appt time was thirty minutes prior, she shrugged and apologized very politely. I then went on to explain to her in the flat monotone that signals I am keeping my composure grudgingly that in fact my time had value as well. I declined the reschedule attempt and told her to tell them I was doing great no issues. If I wanted this kind of patient care I would have went to the VA.

I was im waiting room for an hour last week. Not happy, but i deal with it.

98 chevy ignition r&r handed me a royal *** kicking. Lifted, seat wouldnt move back. After i was done it felt like something was going to pop out of my low back. Wait, there’s more! Then i picked up the van that needed blower motor and fixed it too. So, hurting some. Feeling a little better after an hour of chillaxin..

Kinda like putting your car in the body shop for prep and paint. Ya pay big bucks to get it done right and wait and wait till you could have taken a collage class on doing it yourself and it would have turned out better and less time and money.
Just my opinion.

How's the day been, Fred?

You’ve never been to a doc appointment at the VA… I waited 9.5 hours past my scheduled time on one occasion and 7 hours on another.

Nice. I have a book i need to get into the mail... tough when the Post office is only open 3 hours a day
About the same here, small town Post Office but I know everyone there and spend more time catching up on small talk than mailing a package.

Not so much of the social gathering, although where I grew up, the post office was in a general store so you never knew what was going to come up when you walked in. The PostMistresses are very pleasant here.

My physical today from them, 4.5 hours. No waiting though. Doc took me in 10 minutes ahead of schedule. They went over every single medical thing in my 21 year military medical file. And they didn’t even use lube, kind of hurts haha

Sending a chin spoiler in the mail is always a fun time. I keep telling the gal to keep the size and weight handy because it's not going to change. Never happens and is always the same size and weight.
