    electric fuel pumps

My holley blue just shot craps the other day. I didn't even get one year out of it. I threw another one on because I was in a hurry(daily driver). They work great but was not impressed with how long the first one lasted.

    A strange head porting question....

Yes I port. I don't go for maxxed out porting. As I stated before I'm no expert. I flow test every head I port but posting numbers IMO really don't do much because every bench is different along with what you use around the intake port, weather(actually seen 10cfm difference on same bench with...

    A strange head porting question....

If you don't mind playing with putty then nope. All critical dimensions are basically the same.

    A strange head porting question....

I'm no expert but I'll give my two cents. Water jackets limit porting for most. They vary from head to head and year to year. Most like the J or X for the bigger valves(less money) and they flow good in stock form but they have bad exh. ports. The closed chamber 302 have small valves but you...

    helicoil in heads

Not too sure what holes your talking about. The three closest to the headers should be no problem. The two closest to the intake have extra meat on the bottom that are visible in the intake port. If you drill and tapp these to a larger size for the heli coil you might break threw then you need...

    Street Races in Illinois

Just talked to a friend today and he along with about 6-7 racers(from IN) want to drive over there. They all run around mid to low 9's in the 1/4 so there will be some quick iron there. Keep us posted with dates please.

    110 Octane and Timing

I think running that at the strip is a great and safe way to tune. Unless you have an LM1 your kinda hit and miss with air/fuel ratio. You could go to the track and start playing with the timing like...start out low(32) then keep going up by two degrees until you lose mph then back it down...

    Street Races in Illinois

I just found out that my dad use to race over there in his younger years. I grew up in Taylorville and never even heard about that track. I plan to be there and would love to race my dad again. He has a 440 which is slower then my 340 but I'm porting some heads for him right now so he can drop...

    Engine Coatings?

What coatings...inside the block(valley area), rods, cranks, pistons? The coatings for the rods and cranks are expensive plus the cost of shipping the part back and forth. There is not much to gain unless you spin past 7000rpm. The lifter valley and such serves two purposes as far as I...

Minimum cylinder wall depth for a 318 stroker build

Cylinders 1,3,5 and 7 the major is the side of the cylinder wall closest to the lifter valley area and the minor is toward the outside of the block. Cylinders 2,4,6 ad 8 the major is toward the outside of the bock and minor is towards the lifter valley. Another place to sonic check is the front...

Minimum cylinder wall depth for a 318 stroker build

I've always heard and used the .200 min major and 1.50 min. minor. I know some go thinner then that but in the end its your money.

    Ring gap question ....

The info will be on the sheet you get with your rings. I would gap exactly what it says unless your running KB but your not so no worries.

    Demon Carb

The pic is my carb. I have no choke or anything like that. I simple put in a proform main body and that's it. Only thing that needed messed with was acouple holes for the rolled pins were alittle too shallow and some holes on the base plate were in a different location but demon gaskets have...
