went out in the car today, and the whining noise seems to of stopped altogether, it dosnt seem to do it in reverse niether now. would it be ok if i left it.

need help asap if anybody can help

cheers, just got the whirling noise, when in reverse, did it all time, but only seems to do it in reverse now, i have now put the new flexp plate on

i ordered a new flex plate and i put it on the car, drove it about, but when it 1st started up there was a whirling noise all the time, but after i drove it about, whirling noise stopped but when i put it in reverse it still whirls, any ideas 940 box, 318ci motor, 1967 barracuda. cheers

EDIT : car is a 1967 Barracuda, 904 box, original had a 273ci, now has a 318ci motor in it, also i have noticed that when i put the 2nd flex plate on, i didnt notice any dowls, there was none there, does this mean anything

my flex plate cracked a couple of months ago, so i replaced it, and managed to find another flex plate near by, but it was used, but i still put it on, after around 100 miles it cracked again, but the 2nd hand flex plate i put on, wasnt 100% flat, it was slightly bent, and when i bolted it up...

FASTBACK340, can i just say your barracuda looks stunning, very nice car. the box is a 904, cars is a 67 barracuda, as for the year of the 318 i dont have a clue, the 318 has been rebuilt. and i done 350 mile and the engine seems spot on.

abit of an update my uncle went to start the car today. fired up 1st time. no problems, my uncle thinks when he drained the oil out and flushed it, the old oil has blocked a pipe as it was thick stuff. and why the oil pressure light is on. the engine has been stood for well over 12months...
