I have a Chrysler factory aluminum small block manifold equipped with EGR. Is this a prototype that never made it to full production or a police car part? It's part number 4100337.
Based on some preliminary research I think this is a late 70's manifold because of the offset thermostat housing. Possibly a 79-80 E58 equipped police vehicle?

Does anyone have any info on this manifold or can look it up in a parts book? Thanks!!!

Watching.
I can honestly say that I have never seen or heard of one of those before.
The only factory aluminum LA manifold I know of is the six pack.
Well, okay, there were LD340s that carried a factory part number to make them NHRA legal- but strictly over the counter, not assembly line stuff.
This ain't either one.
Any other markings, Pentastars, casting dates?

But weren't all the six pack intakes cast by Edelbrock? Whether they had Edelbrock cast in or not?

Yes, I believe so (although the big block cast iron six packs were cast by Ma Mopar). But they still were a factory "assembly line" manifold- not just MP/DC/aftermarket.

I seem to recall a special intake for the Little Red Express trucks... They were all E58 powered..

They were cast iron, though. As were every cop LA I've ever seen.
Lil' Reds had an EH1 engine, only slightly different from the cop E58.

Wow ! Looks to be a twin to the late 70s stock 4 barrel intake… here is a NOS W2 version

They would need to be portmatched . But look at the bolt pattern … see where the teardrop recesses are ? That is where the std holes would be drilled . Also notice the lack of crossover as well as the untapped vacuum, water and egr bosses .

Here are the other pics I have. I don't think it has ever been mounted on an engine. I didn't see any other markings, Pentastars, casting dates. Only the 4 on the bottom of the manifold.

i have a 78~79 4bbl intake that's the twin in steel. i can take some measurements tomorrow and see how it stacks up.

first i've ever seen that in AL-LOO-mini-ummm

That is a spreadbore intake. Since the first TQs arrived in 1969, I don't see how that intake would be for a 273. QJs arrived 1966, so may be made for a QJ.

Part number shows it as a late 70s early 80s piece .
My guess is a Direct Connection part aimed at a specific class of racing . Like my cast iron W2 manifold.

4100337 Part number? Could that number possibly be casting #, and part number is maybe 4100336? Regardless, looks like 1979-80 number [( worked in Material Control then at Chrysler)or was laid off]. I'll guess 1980 Lil Red Truck prototype part, some trucks were produced, not more than 5 maybe? Maybe cop car though, I had a 1979 Grand Fury, I believe E58, big car but fat dog slow.

Unless it’s just his pic or my eyes it looks like the T stat opening is on a hell of an angle. Kim

Re read the thread. We are talking about 3 totally different intakes here. Kim
I'll take my info and conversation down to help reduce the conversation. The blue painted intake is the one from the OP.

I agree on the date range - specifically 1979. The casting number 4100337 is right in between these other 1979 manifolds:

From another thread on this site:
I have a parts list from 1979. It shows the same 4v intake manifold for both engines - part No. 4100339, casting No. 4100340. It's from a '79 production weights chart and shows the weight at 49.5 lbs. For the 2v, it shows 360 2v as 4100333/4100334 and 318-2v as 4100330/4100331

From looking at the Chrysler parts catalogs, intake manifolds starting with 4100--- were only used in 1979.
Intake casting numbers and catalog part numbers are usually different by one digit.
Casting number 4100337 has a catalog part number 4100338. The 1979 Chrysler parts catalog shows only one 4 barrel manifold for all vehicles 4100338.
Direct connection numbers usually start with a P.
Don't see that number with or without P in any of the Direct Connection catalogs.
None of the part numbers shown in the link from post #23 are good numbers.
They are not in Chrysler's part number history.

Is this the only writing on that tag.

I know Bob Torozzi did some testing for Chrysler in that same time period. He ran dyno work on turbo charging every Chrysler motor. He was up in central coast California. I try to see if handwriting matches. He said he had pallets of intake manifold he sent back to Chrysler.
