Harder Better Faster Stronger.
But they do work nice when done correctly.
I still have to go to work, and get to drive with the idiots, so good brakes are a must.Thats why I drive out here in the sticks!!!!
I agree, I still drive my old 60 odd year old classics like what they are..60 year old classics. Only traffic here is the 1 traffic light, there for when the schools let out and that 1 stop sign at that little town down the road. But I always stay far enough behind I can stop, and I always hope I do not encounter drunks and idiots from the front!!! So hard to call any of it traffic! Going to Houston to the doc,,,that requires my "modern" 2014.drum brakes are ok as long as you adjust your expectations and drive further from the car in front (that has modern brakes). the trouble is we all want these old cars to drive like our daily drivers so we go down the rabbit hole of 'upgrades', lol.
neil.
BS in my original 48 Willys, driving normal twice I have had to drive over the curb, to avoid some *** doing something stupid.drum brakes are ok as long as you adjust your expectations and drive further from the car in front (that has modern brakes). the trouble is we all want these old cars to drive like our daily drivers so we go down the rabbit hole of 'upgrades', lol.

yep i've done the up the kerb to avoid rear ending cars before in old ****. even came round a bend on a dual carriageway (like a freeway but only 2 lanes, lol) to find all the traffic stopped. i stopped alongside the 4th car from the back, lucky the centre of the road had enough room for me.BS in my original 48 Willys, driving normal twice I have had to drive over the curb, to avoid some *** doing something stupid.
The brakes are all new and work 100%, the stock drums cannot match the stopping distance of modern disk cars.
Yes I give tremendous extra gap, because the Willys is a nut and bolt restoration.
Are you going to the Dental convention in Myrtle Beach? My dentist usually shuts the office down for a week and they all go a convention, right by where our tin condo is in Myrtle Beach.
Hey, Doc. So, then you make some Billy Bob teeth? LOL!I’m not going to a convention but I am going for a dental continuing education course. It’s a 3D printing course, it is so I can do more procedures with my 3D printer. Right now I use my printer for surgical guides, models and basic stuff. Soon I want to be 3D printing dentures, partial dentures and implant retained dentures.
Being able to do this will allow me to be able to offer more services without pricing myself out of the range of most people.

Quality takes time. And you have all the time in the world.
I used pre-bent on my Duster with good luck, except I did not use the one that went across the rear end.
Because I used a set up that was different than stock.
And Doc's rear end set up, is not stock.
Do you have the old lines? Take it and a 2x12. Trace the line on the 2x12. Cut along the line and then bend the new line to fit the template. You might have to get creative at the brake end.Well the pre-bent kit said for disc brakes, but apparently that’s only the fronts.
It’s ok, I can do it… I’m just a grumpy old man.
The SS braided lines or the metal lines?Looks like your rear brake lines are going to be in the way of the shocks.
Hey man, you are a dentist not a mechanic!!!!! Pays (some) better!! Better yet if a brain surgeon!!They are going to be close. I'd test fit shocks before you get too far. But hey! What do I know?
