NAPA has a line of wipers (arm and blade) that they market under a "Classic" designation. Be sure to tell the counter man that you want the Classic series wiper. The ones on my 1970 Dart look and work like originals.

Do the holes in the bumper tabs line up with the screws that hold the lens to the bracket? Maybe you can use longer screws that would go through the bumper, lens and bracket - sandwich the lens between the bumper and bracket. It's wild that the tabs are not in the usual place...

Not likely that the door would come open because the striker and the broken piece would be captured between the door and the nut retainer . What is very likely is getting the door jambed shut as the striker gets wedged diagonally in the latch... yeah, ask me how I know this....
