Put an ad on this site and you will be surprised how many responses you will get. Use the parts wanted section and I am sure you will find what you want. Good luck with your project! Also if you change your rear end you will have to change your drive shaft as well.

If you were to put a set of 355 gears in that car you would see a big improvement but it will also rev more on the highway. Also if you change gears you will need to change the gear in your tranny for the speedo or it will be way off.

Pull the 318 and replace it with a 340! But gears would make a difference and would be a lot cheaper.

Yes I agree with you on no room for spacers! My air cleaner is right up against my hood with no spacers! I need to find a different air cleaner bottom that lies down over the carb more so I can run a spacer

My advise to you is to do what you can afford, but keep all the original pieces if they are from that car. Seems silly but someday you might want to put the car all back to original and you cannot get any more original than the pieces that came from that car. I wish I had kept some origianl...

I have to ask why you think his exhaust is too small? the rule of thumb is 1 in per 100 horsepower. So with two 2 in exhaust pipes he should be good to about 400 HP. I have 2 in exhaust on my dart with a 340 in it and it works just fine.
