    Rear end upgrade??

Doesn't hurt to change the rear end fluid anyway, so pop the rear cover off. The gear ratio will be stamped into the ring gear. Also by opening it up you can tell it is has a limited slip unit (suregrip) in it. If the ring gear is a 2.71(or higher) you lucked out. All you need to do is go...

    8.75 posi unit price?

First it isn't called a "posi," because Mopar called it a "suregrip." However, its true name is a "limited slip." To answer your question it depends on the type you're looking at. A cone type isn't worth as much as a Clutch type. So which Limited Slip unit are you looking to buy, Clutch or...

    Rearend width

Exactly how wide it is I do not know. But it is a direct bolt in job. Now if you have an a body 8.25 rear go to the junk yard and find a 96 or olde jeep GC and pull the gears and sure grip unit as well as the rear disc brake setup. Then bolt it all to the a body 8.25 rear. Boom now you have an...

    rear end swap help?

Yes starting in 73, the a body could get an 8.25 rear if order. A sbp/BBP 7.25 rear was also an option if a slant 6 or front drum brakes were ordered. The 8.25 was the replacement for the 8.75 rear.

    rear end swap help?

You can use the limited slip, gears and rear disc off a 96 and older jeep GC but you'll need an a body 8.25 rear because the jeep rear is too wide for an a body.

200R4 all day and day. If you have to cut the tranny tunnel (which you don't for the 200R4) why limit yourself to a 4 speed when you can drop in a 6 speed.
